Is it not virtue signaling when you tell us about your black friend? Are you not telling us how moral you are when you tell us about how you see black people at the same level as yourself?

Unlike you, I was not trying to virtue signal.

My intention, as I pointed to before, was to point out how silly James is when he contests that minorities, for some reason, have a harder time getting IDs then whites.  That was the point of the story, to make a joke at James expense, and to that end, James has still not provided anything other then anecdotal evidence to prove his points.

Furthermore, the second part of your critique was not me virtue signaling again; to be honest I dont give a rat's ass about virtue signaling to some progressive.  It was pointing out the, at best, ignorant philosophy that minorities need White Saviors to help them, when in fact they do not.

All they need is to be given agency, equal protection under the law, and left alone, and they will succeed, as has every other race in this country, including those from the West Indies.  The problem with White Saviors though is that they are more concerned with what other White Saviors think about them and therefore set up a narrative that minorities are a victim class in order to virtue signal.

In doing so, they not only trick a large portion of minorities that they are victims, of which false victimhood is a self-fullfiling prophecy, but also put in place emotional knee-jerk policies that often make things worse, like public housing.  Of course, just like all White Saviors, they can retreat back to their safe suburbs and not feel the effects of their bad policies, while those of us living in the city do.

We are now seeing a new creation of really bad policy by White Saviors through the thorough demoralization of police.  This is not to defend that recent Jack Ass who got convicted, but he is being used as an example of what all police are, and police are leaving the cities, en mass, or just not signing up.  Crime will inevitably go up in the coming years, and already has.  Homicide in major cities is up 30+% year over year.  But no worries for those White Savior, since they do not live in cities.

And this why I have such contempt for people like this.  They swoop in and act like they actually know what they are talking about when in fact they have no idea what city life, in a big city, not Austin where you could piss over it if you had to go bad enough, is like.  They come in, protest, rally enough of the population to get attention while ignoring what the majority wants, get bad policy in place and leave without any expense for themselves.

“The white [savior] is very clever. He came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.”

So BLM rioters had pictures showing cops dressed as pigs being shot in the head.  It's pretty disgusting on both sides when they do stuff like that.
But it is free speech in America and not illegal.

No one answered my question. Who was charged with insurrection?

Unfortunately, many Democrats in power like to stir up the pot for political gain.  So they divide people up into identity groups.  Not only by race.  But gender, rich vs. poor, gay vs straight, etc.  Then they peel off the "offended" and "downtrodden" offering salvation, monetary gain, and political power.  This divides us up hurting the country's unity. No one gains but the politicians and those who can make a buck off the division. The rest of us lose our friendships, our peace, our money, and sometimes our lives. It's been going on for decades.

Answers to your questions fall into a black hole between your ears.
IF you really want to keep track of all this, there's a way to do so without asking question of this audience you have no desire or ability to read or accept:

Although I do have a cynical view on what Democrats are doing (I mean you could not listen to what Pelosi said the other day and not gasp at the cynicism) I do think there is a more nuanced view on this.

Each generation came into this world and picks righteous, and sometimes not so righteous, fights that are necessary in their prime.  In many cases they win, yet even if they win, they feel it is required to continue the fight even if it is not needed anymore.  At their victory, they have reached an age where changing their core philosophy is not possible, so they simply do not see the need to move on.  Now in most cases, this is not a big deal since the following generation is larger then the present.  This new generation's increased numbers will inevitable squash the never ending now pointless battles of the past and move us onto new issues.  With Baby Boomers it is different.

Baby Boomers righteously fought racism in the 60s and 70s, and won, but it then became part of their personality to fight it in perpetuity.  Unfortunately for society, the Boomers are so large of a generation we can not move on past this since they still have the numbers to at least guide the narrative.  (If you disagree, please explain to me how two old timers like Trump and Biden won.)  This is why we cant move past this as a society.

We are starting to with the Millennials, the first generation with the numbers that can fight the outdated perspective of the Boomers, but, with the Boomers now feeling threatened, they are doubling down.

Plenty of young politicians are playing identity politics.  The newly added component is the push for socialism which has gotten very big especially since the Soviet Union collapsed.

As far a Trump and Biden winning, how would explain a young and black Obama winning, twice?  I think certain people are keeping us in the past, unfortunately regarding identity politics.  It's very destructive for everyone. Most people want to move on past the past.  They've got their own issues with health, schooling, expenses, jobs, and other personal issues.  They really aren't interested in what color or sexual preferences other people have.  It doesn't pay the rent.

I’ll bet you dollars to donuts that Allan uses the phrase again and multiple times over the next 500 pages.

For those among us who (unbelievably) continue to defend the rioters, here's something sobering to read. https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/23/politics/capitol-riot-cop-dragging/index.html

And now for something completely different (but not unexpected):
New probe confirms Trump officials blocked Puerto Rico from receiving hurricane aid
The Trump administration also obstructed an investigation looking into why it was depriving the U.S. territory of congressionally approved funds, the report found.
The administration of former President Donald Trump obstructed an investigation looking into why officials withheld about $20 billion in hurricane relief for Puerto Rico following the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017, one of the deadliest U.S. natural disasters in over 100 years, a new report says.

Not surprising no. But I can't remember what the back story was. What was Trump's problem with Puerto Rico, had someone from there insulted him or something, anyone remember?

Insufficient reverence, I think. He also may not have realized they are Americans right away and probably didn't ever believe they were "real" Americans.

A lot of federal money gets stolen I seem to recall. So it was being held up for that reason but a lot was released.  The article says $19 Billion in funding was supposed to go to PR which has 3.1 million people or $6,000 for every man woman and child.  That's nuts!  They're stealing the money we gave them.

The highest-profile public corruption case involving disaster recovery funds involved federal employees — two FEMA officials who were charged with fraud and bribery surrounding $1.8 billion in contracts to restore Puerto Rico's power grid.

"There's always been concern about the ability of the government of Puerto Rico to effectively manage a level of money that so vastly exceeds their normal annual operating budgets," Brown said. But he said he remains confident that money will flow in a timely manner and with proper oversight, because relationships between the local and federal governments have "significantly improved over the past year," he said.

Well, democrats will make sure they get lots of money to Puerto Rice now since they'll be making them a state after Washington DC so they can get two more Democratic senators.

There's also the matter of their constitutional right to representation. A lot of Republicans seem to forget there is other stuff besides the second amendment in there.

But how would Trump have known beforehand that they would mishandle the money or is this in reference to some previous incident?

Regardless though, wouldn't it have been better to get to the bottom of the corruption, or override it somehow, or do something anyway to find a way to deliver help to the people who were suffering. Making THEM suffer because of a couple of corrupt scumbags seems like pretty much the wrong thing to do. Why punish the avg joe at the bottom of the heap?  I mean, you seem worried that any potential Senators from a new Puerto Rican state would be Democrats, but doing this kind of adds to that fire, doesn't it?

Meanwhile in my nearby city, Trump is the Shyster expected:
The city of Albuquerque has referred a $211,175.94 bill for former President Trump’s reelection campaign rally in 2019 to a professional debt collection agency.
The outstanding invoice has remained unpaid since the event in nearby Rio Rancho. City officials covered the security costs of the then-president’s stay at a downtown Albuquerque hotel, The Albuquerque Journal reported Thursday.

This is sure to impress Alan. 😰

The PR government has been known to be corrupt.  If Trump closed his eyes to it and provided the money, he would have been doing what the Democrats are doing now -  using federal money to buy future votes.  Wouldn't you be criticizing him if he did that instead of trying to protect money provided by American taxpayers?
