That's NOT AT ALL what he was getting at and you know it.

Disingenuous preprogrammed replies, which parrot some talking point, are pavlovian responses conditioned by decades of systematic repetition.

The whole fear-based illegals voting charade has been used as a red herring to cover the actual purpose of voter suppression efforts.

Above and beyond the troll bait. Far more important:
Why today’s 1/6 hearing was utterly devastating for Donald Trump
https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/28/politics/donald-trump-january-6/index.html

Quote
The committee’s hearing on Tuesday was something quite different – as Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top aide to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, provided stirring and intimate details of what happened that day and, specifically, how Donald Trump acted.

It was, in a word, ugly.

In a few more words, what was revealed today was disgusting, disgraceful, and once again frightening for the future of freedom and democracy as the threat is ongoing. The apologists and minimizers are complicit collaborators.

But that's exactly why Republicans want to have voting laws that protect honest voting.,  Because Democrats want to do away with all protection allowing them to stuff the ballot boxes.
The bottom of the stupidity hole grows even deeper.

Yes, quite. As evidenced by the many testimonies in the ongoing hearings. I’m told that an accurate guesstimate of Republicans who still believe that the election was ‘stolen’ runs at around 70%.

If you want to protect ‘honest’ voting, I’d suggest that that lot should be the first to be deprived of the vote.

ITM, if you want to have a peek into the future, as to where the Republicans are going with this, look no further than what occurred in South Africa.

There are certainly forces seeking to actively undermine democracy, not just in the USA. The biggest threat, or should I say weakness is the political bias and lack of independence of the judiciary.

It’s a sad day when even the wife of the Chief Justice actively joins in the effort to overturn the Election and escapes censorship to boot.

England, though never having faced the extremes we’re seeing in America does at least have an independent Supreme Court, elected from within the judiciary, a fixed retirement age and a revolving Presidency - thereby nullifying the arguments over ‘packing’ the SC, confirmation hearings and politically motivated obstructionism. Sadly the antics we’re seeing in the States is being replicated, albeit in a slightly different form in England.

Growing up ‘we’ were led to believe in the advantage of the 2-party democratic, first-past-the-post system primarily, ‘we’ were told, because it allowed for ‘strong’ government.  A few decades of experience have made me doubt that. I see the countries who have a system of proportional representation, in one form or another, just as, if not more effective. It also effectively eliminates the possibility of subverting the democratic process.

Sounds very democratic.

Here's how Democrats handle voting in my area of New Jersey.  Of course, the article from a Democrat newspaper never mentions all the fraudsters were Democrats,  In any case, they used illegal mail in ballots to stuff the ballot boxes so their candidates would win.  The big issue with fraud is more for local elections than national elections where a few votes can make a big difference.

I'm not sure you can argue the great democratic advantages of Great Britain considering all the comments here about how undemocratic Brexit was.  Maybe I missed something.  Certainly, a few decades ago, when bombs were going off in Northern Ireland and the IRA was battling Englishmen doesn't seem like democracy at work either.

You don't understand America. Our founders were against strong government.  They opposed the English King and a strong central government. They feared it. It's why we revolted.  That's why our constitution was written to divide power so much among the three branches of government. (Congress [legislature], President, Judiciary) with each checking the other.

Frankly, over the centuries that power has been concentrated despite the Consitution's attempt to limit power.  And, there's way too much power in Washington DC.  The constitution wanted most power to be left in the states to decide how we want to live so people locally could determine their laws in each of the states.  Recently, we see a movement back to the original precepts when Roe vs Wade was declared unconstitutional.  It is now left to the people and their states to determine just how much or little abortion can be done.  That was never up to 9 unelected judges in Washington to decide. So we're actually moving back to democracy, not away from it with the new crop of Supreme Court justices..

There you go again attacking the messenger rather than the point. The fact is you have no answer to all the cheating Democrats have done at the ballot boxes over the decades.

It was Biden's policies that allowed Mexican cartels to smuggle illegals into the USA that caused all these deaths.  What did he expect was eventually going to happen?

San Antonio trailer deaths – latest: Biden mourns ‘horrifying and heartbreaking’ loss as toll rises to 51
16 survivors, including four children, are ‘fighting for lives’ in hospital

At least 51 people were discovered dead, “stacked” inside a truck’s tractor-trailer near San Antonio, Texas, in what authorities believe may be the the deadliest human-trafficking incident in modern US history.

Another 16 people, including four children, were taken to local hospitals in varying conditions, according to officials. Police have taken three people into custody. The US Department of Homeland Security is investigating.

Not an attack, fact; you're trolling bullshit and again embarrassing yourself. The only forum member here who doesn't accept that is Alan Klein.

I expect this prayer in school ruling is going to get interesting. I bet the Satanic Temple will be all over this.
What will happen if the high school coach leads a 50 yard line prayer to Allah?

And the dumb sap coach does not even know his own religion. From Matthew 6:

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Read the post again. I made absolutely NO claim as to the great democratic advantage of the UK. In fact the opposite, GB is effectively in the same boat as the USA. Their Supreme Court, though is independent and free from political bias, the American is not.

Your ignorance is laughable. American businesses have been smuggling in cheap migrant workers for well over a century. "Biden's policies" are a minor historical footnote, at best.

Alan, stop watching Tucker, he's a con, not even a very good one. Are you worried about being "replaced"? We're all going to die, we're all going to be replaced.

The shooter was not upset about gun laws.  He was upset about the mayo.

Oh.  That’s what it was all about.  It wasn’t murder at all, it was all about mayo.  Phew!  Thanks for clearing that up for us.

This is why Republicans are so concerned about protecting the vote.  Fortunately in this case, the judge ruled properly.  Hopefully, it will be supported if appealed.

New York judge rules law allowing noncitizens to vote for mayor is unconstitutional
NEW YORK (Reuters) -A New York state judge struck down a recent law on Monday that gave hundreds of thousands of noncitizen residents of New York City the right to vote in municipal elections for mayor and other local offices.
https://news.yahoo.com/york-judge-rules-law-allowing-175714687.html

Oh please. If the law had been upheld, then these people voting would have been perfectly legal so there would be nothing to "protect" against. WHen you say " Republicans are so concerned about protecting the vote" you mean "protecting against Democratic votes."

Until Americans quit hiring the undocumented, illegal immigration will persist.  The problem predates the current administration by decades and is caused by poorly regulated capitalism, not Biden.

Certain rights are too important to be left to the states. They must be guaranteed to all Americans. Remember the civil rights era when the Republicans were using "states' rights" to stir up votes from segregationists? The translation of this is that Mississippi, Alabama, etc should be allowed to continue to discriminate against blacks. The basic right for a woman to control her own body is one of those rights.
