On the other topic, a friend bought a 2nd hand Chevy Volt over a year ago. He commutes to work, about 135 km per day return, which is why he went shopping for a PHEV. Loves it, best decision he ever made, and although his electricity bill went up by about $40 per month on average (re-charges every night at home), he saves much more than that by not buying gasoline, even at last year's prices. He lives in Northern Ontario where it's cold and there aren't many public charging stations yet. Btw, he's a car nut, heavily involved in rally, his other car is a Subaru WRX.
