Actually, I frequently don't know what you mean. So I take you literally until you explain yourself. Why do you think I ask you so many questions?

So you mean: "No one Most politicians in power converses literally except robots and people on the left who want to dismiss your beliefs by calling you a liar.

Who is "we" that gets it?

I don't play games with Trump. I just assume everything he says is a lie. It has worked out pretty accurately.
That's a fair question.  So rather than calling me a liar, why don't you ask me to clarify it?   Isn't that a better way to communicate?  Things often get misunderstood on the web that eyeball-to-eyeball are easily understood.

From the article and video you linked too.  This is what AOC said:

""Millennials, and Gen z, and all these folks that come after us, are looking up and we're like 'the world will end in 12 years if we don't address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?'"

Yes, I read it. I know that reading an article you post a link to is a strange concept to you.

Well that works too...

Needs more voting (to conform to Mitch McConnell's preferred usage), and more cats (or Hawaiian pizza) to conform to mine.

NASA is like the military. Civilians aren't interested in driving a tank, flying a F-16 or sailing on a destroyer. They want an F-150 Ford, Piper Cub and a little fishing boat to catch bass. So Private Industry isn't going to spend the money unless there's a payoff.  Since the government wants to buy tanks, so private industry makes them.  But they're a waste of money, as Democrats and leftists have reminded us for years.  They strain the government budget and take money better spent on civilian goods and services like vaccines and medical care.  Of course, we put up with it because we have to defend ourselves from foreign socialists and others who would steal our stuff away from us.  Or we fly to the moon because it's an ego trip and feels good to brag. It also helps us project power in the world.

But make no mistake.  All the money spent on these things is money not spent on civilian goods which lower our standard of living and puts us further in debt damaging our economy.

Sounds like you got all revved up and went completely off the rails.

As Ronald Reagan used to say, there you go again, this time with the accusation that I called you a liar.

But... that's basically all regulations is??

Take CAFE for example.  I can guarantee you that without it, cars would not be as efficient or have emissions as low as they do right now, and everyone benefits.  Automakers employ more people for R&D, people get better, more efficient cars that go further and pollute less on a tank of gas, and so on.  What possible counter-benefit is there to NOT regulating as such?   When gas is cheap (because of federal subsidies, but I digress), there's no profit motive to efficiency, and that's *bad*.

I disagree.  Gas was what, 4 bucks a gallon not too long ago.  Thats plenty of incentive for car companies to make more efficient cars and plenty of reason for people to buy them.  CAFE created the need by fiat.  I'm not saying making cars more efficient is a bad thing, just that the market might have done the same as the regulations if left alone.  You ask what possible reason for not having the regulations?  I'll go with freedom for $200 Alex.

With many Texans freezing without power, some without water, anyone want to guess were Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is at this very moment?

Last I heard there was still heat and water in Washington DC.  Somehow its different to be in Cabo on vacation than to be in DC?

Nope, not well deserved, a very poor optic, illustration of his lack of care for his constituents.

Sure, that be a start. See what Beto is doing? Making an effort, aiding seniors; the guy isn't even a senator!

Ted Cruz in Cancun? Beto O'Rourke aids seniors during blackout.
Beto O'Rourke held an event Wednesday, Feb. 17, to aid seniors amid the ongoing crisis in Texas, where millions have been left without power or heat in freezing temperatures.

At least Cruz could make an effort; none shown.
Don't get us started on what Rick Perry said to his fellow Texans.
Texas going blue? No wonder.
Of course, Craig who's got all the 'facts' will now defend the indefensible Cruz and tell us how awful Beto is.

Well at least I had the facts about NASA when you posted crap when you had none, but I digress.

Good for Beto, and all the folks who were helping others.  Cruz can do as he wishes and if he wants to go on vacation, more power to him.  He has to live with the fallout.  Or he could have just stayed warm and washed in DC.

I have a slightly different take. In 1980, I bought this Honda station wagon. It got 40-45 miles/gallon. I know because I kept track of my fuel efficiency every time I filled up. So that was forty years ago. A while back this idiot woman rear-ended me as I was turning into my driveway because she was futzing with her phone and totaled the car I was then driving. So I had to get a new car. None of the cars I looked at, and I looked at a lot, got 40-45 miles/gallon like my Honda did 40 years ago. The Toyota Prius came close, but while I am theoretically in favor of electric cars, I didn't want to by the Prius. The fact is all of the cars I looked at were gigantic (an exaggeration), and got 20-30 miles/gallon (no exaggeration). I guess the cars are more efficient than they were back then, but they are so much bigger they still get lousy gas mileage. Why? People want big cars and they are willing to accept lousy gas mileage. Gas is significantly higher than it was 40 years ago, but apparently operating cost doesn't figure into the equation. You know what is hilarious? When you are in Europe and you happen to see an American car parked on the street next to European cars. It looks like a battle tank. And I am not even talking about one of those Suburbans that can transport an entire football team and still have room for the cheerleaders.

Yes again you digress. No one disputed your facts about NASA. You have dismissed the facts NASA has posted on their website. I simply linked that website to illustrate Allen’s fallacies once again. You have also failed to answer a simple question I asked you about Alans statement. Your inability to answer a simple question again speaks volumes.

Meanwhile, do your think Cruz might have a hookup in mind? 😂

Jenny Cudd is accused of breaking federal laws that could result in a prison sentence. But she told the court that she wanted to travel, because she had already paid for the weekend retreat.

You linked to the NASA website because you didn't know crap about the subject and were intent on trashing Alan.  You had know idea what the truth really was.  Basically Alan was right and you were full of it.

Ask all the questions you like, I'll answer if I want or not answer, my choice.  Your questions and 'volumes' mean exactly nothing to me.

Who would go to the Soviet Union on their honeymoon?

The mayor of a city which has several sister cities that engage in cultural exchange events sponsored by a local nonprofit group. In the case of Burlington, Vermont; their sister cities include: Arad Israel; Bethlehem West Bank Palestine; Burlington Canada; Honfleur France; Moss Point, Mississippi, U.S; Puerto Cabezas Nicaragua; and Yaroslavl Russia. They also have a "friendship city" of Nishinomiya Japan.

https://burlingtonyaroslavl.com/about-us/

Burlington mayor Bernie Sanders and his wife married just prior to a previously scheduled event in Burlington's sister city of Yaroslavl Russia in 1988; the year the sister city program began. They decided to marry the day before the scheduled event as the simplest way to avoid taking additional time off from their busy schedules.

But... why let facts interfere with a more conspiratorial ideological inference?

I have a slightly different take. In 1980, I was just out of school and bought this Honda station wagon. We had gas shortages and gas gluts and thats what drove more or less efficient cars.  Back in 73 we had gas lines and it brought is the Pinto and Vega as people looked to use less gas.  Then we has more than enough gas and people wanted room and power again. Then gas got expensive and big was out of vogue.  Now we have plenty of cheap gas and people want the room and power.  Except for the Tesla guys, they have power but they can't go anwhere too far away unless they like sitting at chargers for hours on end.  The moral of the story is that people decided what was important to them, not the government.  And the market gave it to them.
