More or less correct.  Taxpayers provided the funding.  The government wrote the cheques.
Indeed, when US citizens can write these kinds of cheques, I want to sign some.👍

She is just a bartender from the Bronx?
Well, I'm from The Bronx, like AOC.  Born and raised there. So, why do you take me literally? :)

Doing so would be a huge mistake.

...

I think so. I read a lot of articles on Petapixel about wedding photographers getting COVID because the bride and groom weren't wearing masks.
...
They should have stayed out of their bedrooms?

I agree and provided (in a general NASA statement) this.
Too bad Alan doesn't know very well.

The NASA statement you provided is history altered for those who don't know it.  That appears to include you.

At the time the Government was writing checks backed by the money provided by the citizens.  They wrote those checks on behalf of those citizens.

Public/private partnerships with a dose of high-end academic input.  Sounds like a great model to me?
Don't get me wrong.  NASA is the only agency I like.  And I was willing to spend my money, taxpayer money, to support it.  But I was wrong. The fact we have private industry competing for rocket business, both to supply governments and private industry, is a better way to do it.

Like any other industry, competition, design creativity, etc. is magnified in private industry, just like the camera market. Can you imagine some government agency deciding on which format is the best, whether money should be spent on DSLRs, micro 4/3, or whatever?  We'd never be where we are if the government was setting the standards and specs.  Of course, government requirements such as for space and military have created a new science.  But they basically have set the standard of requirements and let private industry work out the design and methods to get there.

Here's a homeowners tip. If you are adding a back patio to you home, tell the idiot pouring the aggregate not to pour it to within a quarter of an inch of the threshold of your door so that when the snow melts the water doesn't run under you door and into the living room. Unless of course you like to shovel snow off your patio.
My patio is lower than the threshold by a full step. Same at the front door.  Everything should slope away from the house as well.  Sorry, you got this problem. Can you get them to correct it? Sue?

Look at the question and the incorrect answer you provided TO the question.
Please, I know from history you can post using critical thinking, don't breathe so close to Alan who can't and “defend” his nonsense. I still have some respect for your ability to see what's factual and posted (sans the NASA comments; that was ridiculous), Alan is without any hope of respect.

Yes you are truly absurd... and I am laughing at you.

A correct history of Apollo would say NASA hired numerous contractors to BUILD the Apollo spacecraft for them.

The government IS the citizens.  They work for us. Or at least they used to.

AOC predicted the world is going to end in twelve years.

She was referring to the UN report on the consequences of warning by 1.5 degrees:

Great.

And no one, including I have said otherwise. I am not dismissing or disagreeing with your history.
Alan made a statement that as is so often the case, knee jerk, assumptive, an incorrect generalization. He wrote "NASA didn't build the rocket"
NASA says otherwise but NASA didn't state in detail, what you provided. So simple question true or false: NASA didn't build the rocket.
Not all, not part, they didn't build it. True, as NASA's actual historic web site states, or false.
This is akin to Alan saying "Fords cars are not built by humans" because part of the building is robotic.

Q: And who wrote the cheques?
Now you can go on record:
The US citizens, or the Government?
Hint, it wasn't the US citizens.  :P

Because that is the only thing I have to go on with you. Who could possibly know that when you said "no one" you meant "most politicians in power", which is itself vague. I bet the next time you say "no one" you won't mean "most politicians in power". Who'll know what you'll mean then.

I don't listen to AOC. I had to look up the comment that you said she made about the world ending in 12 years. First, to see if it was actually true, or if it was just another one of your false facts. Second, if she actually said it, what was the context. The first search result came back was AOC clarifying that she meant it in "dry humor", which answered the question.

Did you listen to it?  She seemed convinced it would end in twelve years.  But The Bronx has been going down for years, so I could see why she came to that conclusion. :)

So what do you call an enterprise initiated, directed and controlled by the government, utilizing the citizens' common resources?

...wait for it...

It would say that, but it would not be a COMPLETE history of Apollo if it did not describe NASA's role in orchestrating and directing the programme.

The government IS the citizens.
Ah, so all those citizens wrote the check. Were you there at the signing with Alan?
Come on Craig. We can disagree. Again, please don't stoop as low as Alan with text that more recently lacks the critical thinking I thought in the past you had, despite our disagreements. You can do better than this. I hope.
