PS glad to see you back and hope you get your water soon too.

Got a whole bathtub full of it :).  Honestly the water is, at this point, less of an issue than heat/power.

AOC predicted the world is going to end in twelve years.

She talks in metaphors, her supporters knew what she meant, the right wing media just wants to make her look bad, you can't take everything she says seriously etc. etc.  Did I miss any?  ;)

AOC predicted the world is going to end in twelve years.

Maybe she was using a figure of speech. You were telling me all about figures of speech yesterday, like "no one" really means "most politicians in power". Then I read this article saying that "no one" in Texas had heat and got confused. I am pretty sure "most politicians in power" in Texas have heat. Gov. Abbott was wearing a light weight windbreaker when he went on Fox News to say that the problem was the windmills were frozen. I'm not sure why he was wearing a light weight windbreaker in his office. There is usually no wind inside. Perhaps he had so much heat he had to open the windows and the wind was blowing in.

You were admonishing me for taking you literally, perhaps I should admonish you for taking AOC literally.

The GOP is basically Dwight from The Office': AOC insists her claim that the world could end in 12 years due to climate change was 'dry humor'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7022561/AOC-insists-claim-world-end-12-years-climate-change-dry-humor.html

Come to think of it, sometimes you do remind me of Dwight.

What a minute, are you implying we should not take everything a politician says literally?

800,000 more restaurant workers?  In one week. This has got to be deeper than that.

Maybe, but we sure have a lot of restaurants around here. Maybe what will happen is that the unemployed restaurant workers will decide that being a restaurant worker is a risky proposition and will go into sales.

Are wedding photographers working again?

I think so. I read a lot of articles on Petapixel about wedding photographers getting COVID because the bride and groom weren't wearing masks.

We've been pushing around a million a week of new unemployment for going on a year.   If it's zombie company workers, what's going to happen once the government stops supplying them blood money. Even where you live?

As I understand what you were telling us a while back, the employees from the zombie companies that are unemployed are going to get hired by the good companies. Have you changed your mind?

NASA didn't build the rocket.  Private industry did.  You're confusing socialism with capitalism again.  In any case would you want to fly to the moon in a rocketship built by the lowest bidder?

Some interesting facts about who “built” the rockets and such that went to the moon on Apollo 11.

The spacesuits were built by Playtex of bra fame.

The Lunar Module was developed by Grumman  Four subcontractors were involved.  Bell Aerosystems, Hamllton Standard, Marquart and TRW Space Tech.

Primary guidance system was developed by MIT.  The guidance computer was built by Raytheon.  The Abort guidance system was developed by TRW.

The Command Module was built by North American Aviation.

Stage 3 of the Saturn Rocket was built by Douglas Aircraft Company

Stage 2 was built by North American Aviation.

Stage 1 was built by Boeing.

Now I guess one could try and argue that NASA stacking all of these completed components together in the VAB means NASA 'built" the spacecraft.  Thats quite a reach.

Public/private partnerships with a dose of high-end academic input.  Sounds like a great model to me?

Here's a homeowners tip. If you are adding a back patio to you home, tell the idiot pouring the aggregate not to pour it to within a quarter of an inch of the threshold of your door so that when the snow melts the water doesn't run under you door and into the living room. Unless of course you like to shovel snow off your patio.

As far as I'm concerned Apollo is one of the high points in American history.  I simply love the story of Apollo.  More over I find the lunar imagery simply amazing.  Yea there a quite a few stinkers in the entire collection but man they did a great job considering.  And no, its not fake :)

More or less correct.  Taxpayers provided the funding.  The government wrote the cheques.

It was always the taxpayers money, no matter who wrote the checks.

I agree and provided (in a general NASA statement) this.
Too bad Alan doesn't know very well.

In terms of NASA, good use of my money. Others may feel otherwise.
