When people are rioting, you show the rioters.  For all we know, there was one old woman on the other side knocking on the door to get it.  Showing a bunch of scared police with the guns drawn explains nothing about the situation.  It's clickbait.

By the way, these are not the cops where the woman was shot.  There's no black male cop there who was the one who shot her. .  Also, I notice that the black female cop with her back to us didn't draw her gun.  She's calmer than the rest of the 7 male idiots there. The cop on the right has a club and gun in the same hand.  Do you mean they couldn't control the situation with nightsticks that they had?  Well, apparently they did.  After all, these cops didn't shoot anyone so why were their guns drawn?  It looks like the Gunfight at the OK Corral.

You need to get a life.
Maybe we all do.

Thought experiment: suppose the site owner actually decides to honor the work of his late father who produced this forum and web site for the topic of photography and imaging. He decides after 13481 posts in the Bear Pit: now the sole domicile of politics at LuLa, it is time to delete the entire mess. All our comments, arguments and 'work' disappears. We must get back to our lives as photographers (well some of us, one here isn't very good at it, the other can't provide any evidence he's ever taken let alone made an image). What did we get for our efforts? Was it time well spent? Did we change anyone's minds?
I know at least one mind is so locked, we didn't. It is as I posted with a quote that is appropriate, filled with rubbish.

Or, do we watch even deeper depths of stupidity here and a deeper redefining the well deserved epithet of 'moronic'?

That said, I seriously doubt the site owner will do this. There have been 240350 views of this topic since it started on November 04, 2020, 02:11:12 am. The guy who started it is long gone. Moderation is non-existant too. Seems the general goal of the forums is to generate hits to generate ad revenue from photographic companies who likely have no idea, there are thousands of posts from people who would never purchase their products, they he can hardly be considered a photographer, more masquerading as one:
Alan's really a fourteen year old, masquerading as a photographer.
As for that other fellow, he's not even masquerading as a photographer, so I give Alan a tiny bit more credit for that, but he's indeed deserving more of the epithet of moron.
Both need a life and a hobby. Photography appears to be too difficult.

I don't know why you're trying to turn this into a race thing.

To provoke a reply in order to get attention.

Maybe someone will take your bait. Personally, I don't really care for the smell, taste, or visual appearance of the bait you've been using.

Maybe I'll ask the question in a different way. Do you think that Trump actually believes that the election was stolen? Even though he's an obvious beta, I don't personally think that he truly believes that. He's a grifter and this is his latest con. Every con needs a mark. And he's found many of them. The reason that I believe that he's perpetuating this con is because he is incapable of doing anything more worthwhile with his time, which is a spectacular failure of imagination, at best.

Or maybe let me ask this in another way entirely. Do you think that pro wrestling is real?
Who cares what Trump thinks? Biden is president.  Trump and Jan 6th are both distractions from the terrible job Biden's done in his first year.  The Democrats are worried they're going to lose Congress.  Democrats have a president and VP who are out of their league. They're trying to get the public to look the other way so they don't notice. Talking about Trump worked before.  Maybe it will work again.  You have to use the camera that you have with you.

I think a more revealing question would be "Do YOU think the election was stolen"
(or "stoled" as the Pillow man termed it)
I've answered this question before.  No, I don't think it was stolen.  Biden is president. I've moved on.  Many other Democrats and Republicans haven't.  They are fixed in their beliefs and will never change their minds. The important thing is independents and reasonable others have moved on.  They are the swing voters who will determine elections. They don't care about Trump but rather what's going on now.

Good or bad, Biden and the Democrats are in charge and responsible.  They own the government, both the executive and legislative branches.  They can't blame anyone else for what happens in the country and world.

Since Alan is unable to see or smell his own fabricated bullshit, even when it's pointed out to him that he's standing in it, let's clean up another one of his odorous and oft-repeated piles regarding Nancy Pelosi, the Capitol Police, and its Chief.

The Capitol Police are governed by the Capitol Police Board which consists of three voting members. The Chief of the Capitol Police is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of that governing board as established by law.

Title 2, U.S. Code § 1901 - Establishment; officer appointments — There shall be a Capitol police. There shall be a captain of the Capitol police and such other members with such rates of compensation, respectively, as may be appropriated for by Congress from year to year. The Capitol Police shall be headed by a Chief who shall be appointed by the Capitol Police Board and shall serve at the pleasure of the Board.

The Capitol Police Board's three voting members that govern the police force and appoint its Chief consists of:

• The Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives, elected by the members of the House.

• The Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate, elected by the members of the Senate.

• The Architect of the Capitol, responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the Capitol Complex. The Architect of the Capitol is appointed by the president and confirmed by the senate and serves for a term of 10-years. The current Architect of the Capitol was appointed by Trump on on December 9, 2019 and assumed office the following month.

As with any government body, there is congressional oversight by committee or committees. The oversight committees consist of: House Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Legislative Branch; Senate Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Legislative Branch; Committee on House Administration; and Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.

Oh please,  After the incident, the Sergeant at Arms resigned at the behest of Speaker Nancy Pelosi who also fired the Commander of the Capitol Police.  She's in charge. She has the power.  None else.  She should have replaced them before Jan 6th with competent people who would have prevented the break-in and riot.

My question is did the Speaker knowingly tell the Commander not to accept help offered by the military and other federal police units beforehand so the demonstration would turn into a riot?  That's been my feeling since Jan 7th when I learned she was in charge.

Keep up the juggling act. Maybe someday you'll become proficient at it.

Meanwhile, regarding your latest fabricated crap... "Nancy Pelosi who also fired the Commander of the Capitol Police"

“I am calling for the resignation of the chief of the Capitol Police, Mr. Sund, and I have received notice from Mr. Irving that he will be submitting his resignation,” the California Democrat said at a news conference. Sund sent out a release on Thursday defending his department in the wake of the disruption of government, but Pelosi was not impressed. “Mr. Sund, he hasn’t even called us since this happened."

He resigned. He wasn't fired. You'll read better with your blindfold off.

Sund submitted his resignation letter on January 7th with an effective date of January 16th.

People at that level resign when they're told to leave.  Rarely are they fired unless they're stupidly stubborn.  They know when it's over and go quietly.

What I just found interesting is the following statement in Wiki.  Note that Sergeant-at-Arms Irving works for the House under Pelosi.  Did she put him up to tell Sund not to ask for help?  That would confirm my beliefs that the Speaker set the whole thing up.  At a minimum, it shows a complete lack of competence in the handling of the Capitol Police which Pelosi is responsible for as she hires the Sergeant of Arms for the House.

From Steven Sund Wiki's: Sund reports that on January 3, he contacted House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul D. Irving and Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael C. Stenger to request National Guard in advance of the January 6 joint-session of Congress. According to Sund, his request was denied by Irving who stated concerns about "optics".[7]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Sund

This is the complete statement in Sund's incident report to Pelosi afterwards.

... The Democrats and left-wing press keep stirring up conspiracy theories that the right is going to take over the government and country.
Even though that is their publicly stated intent.  ie "Take our country back"  OUR country?  Taking it back from who?
Quote
They use the word insurrection a lot.
That's because that's what we all witnessed.

Also, Alan, just because nobody's been charged with insurrection or sedition YET doesn't mean that it didn't happen.  Building a case like this takes time, especially when justice is repeatedly confronted by obstruction on all fronts.

Also, also, Alan, the idea that Nancy Pelosi is responsible for the insurrection is both risible and despicable.  Sorta like the rest of your theories.

evidence-free

Yes, that's the polite way of saying it. Because the insurrection, and the ongoing threat to democracy in which it was rooted, both angers and concerns me, I have given in at times to coarser terms like fabricated bullshit.

People at that level resign when they're told to leave.  Rarely are they fired unless they're stupidly stubborn.

And yet, you fabricated the claim that he was fired—by Nancy Pelosi. Just like you fabricated the claim that she hired him. Just like you have fabricated so many other claims.

It's easy to understand why—you don't care whether your assertions are false. You've even explained to us why you don't care. You've told us that there is no such thing as truth and that facts are just opinions. The proof that you don't care is shown in your insistence on incessant repetition of false assertions that have been shown to you to be false.

Now... I'll get you a fresh crying towel for your upcoming reply. I mean replies, as whatever it is, you're sure to repeat it over and over and over...

When people are rioting, you show the rioters.

Is that a rule? Why aren't we allowed to photograph and see police reaction?

* PS: A riot is a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd or a violent public disturbance. A riot becomes an insurrection when it is specifically targeted at the seat of government and its elected officials with the specific aim of preventing those elected officials from confirming the election of the President of the United States by terrorizing them into fleeing and seeking refuge.

For all we know, there was one old woman on the other side knocking on the door to get it.

The rest of us know that it was the domestic terrorists that invaded the Capitol because we had our eyes open and saw the video coverage of the event.

It's alright. It's acceptable to peek thru your blindfold once in awhile. We won't tattle on you.
