I was going to make a comment in another thread in response to the latest post (#1610, ......Coronavirus Vaccine.), but I though it might stray a bit into the political arena.

I understand (actually, not really, but....) how someone may be swayed by mask and vaccine mis/disinformation, pushed by leaders in the community, well known politicians and other high-profile personalities.

However, I am truly confounded by those persons who attack another for simply wearing a mask. Why, in heavens name, would someone go out of their own daily routine to heckle someone and how does this behaviour actually make their own day any better? While we may have some anti-maskers/vaxxers up here in Canada, what's currently going on in the U.S. is truly astonishing, and not in a good way.

Ordinarily, I would not be interested or concerned about what the U.S. gets itself into (although, they do cast a large shadow), except my son/D.I.L. and, especially, 8 year old, unvaccinated, grand-daughter live in that country. Not good.

Does anyone know what the means by "seasonal"? We've only been through one summer with Covid (in 2020), and other flus decrease in summer months. Do people just say anything they feel like saying?

This stuff is so outlandish. A couple of weeks ago, this guy made the news cycle, https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/07/27/tennessee-pastor-greg-locke-masks/. That was very confusing to me. He seemed to be saying that the variant was a hoax, the implication being that Covid itself wasn't. How does one arrive at that distinction?
