No worries.  I can only speak for myself but gas mileage is simply not something I consider when it comes to buying a car.  I want to drive what I want to drive, and it may also fill a specfic need.  I have three vehicles, an SUV, a sedan and a minivan.  Not a one gets over 24 on the highway, and I'm fine with that.

The people in Texas thank you for your selfishness.

The Democrat mayor and democrat governor made the deal with Amazon because it was good for NYC and good for NYS.  AOC created such a furor about basically nothing, Amazon decided to pull out to avoid be lambasted in a political storm.  They figured rightly that they would get all kinds of static and said to themselves who needs that aggravation.  Screw NY.  They moved their plans for a new headquarters to another city, I think Atlanta.

I worked in the area Amazon wanted to move to for forty years in Long Island City in Queens, just over the East River from mid-town Manhattan.  There are many poor people and low-income projects there, mostly minority.  It would have been a boon for the very kind of constituents that AOC represents.  She's a dodo bird.

Of all the ways to look at it, that is certainly one of them.

Yes you are truly absurd... and I am laughing at you.

A correct history of Apollo would say NASA hired numerous contractors to BUILD the Apollo spacecraft for them.

Who "builds" an RV that you photograph—the contractors that manufacture the component parts or the company that designs an RV and then selects the contractors for the component parts? Likely the companies that hire you consider themselves to be the builders.

Apple designs a phone, then selects the contractors and components for parts and assembly to complete their design. Apple takes responsibility for the design and the finished product that is the end result, they are the "builder" of an iPhone.

NASA scientists and engineers were responsible for the overall design of the complex and complete set of systems and components that took Apollo to the moon. NASA was the party responsible for the success or failure of the mission and all that was required to make it happen.

"The largest production model of the Saturn family of rockets, the Saturn V was designed under the direction of Wernher von Braun at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, with Boeing, North American, McDonnell Douglas and IBM as the lead contractors."

* As a side note, I've walked under a Saturn V on display at Kennedy Space Center. It's impressive!

Why are considering the loss of tax money for city and state and 25,000 not getting good jobs not an important way to look at it?  What did she do other than making a splash for herself that helped no one, especially the poor and people out of work?  Was she smarter than Major DeBlasio and Gov Cuomo, both Democrats by the way?

There were multiple factors that went into their decision—not just one. If you want a fuller understanding that goes beyond just calling AOC a dope and dodo bird, you can find more at the link below. It wasn't one thing, it was many things.

Maybe she is smarter than those two, but not as smart as Jeff Bezos.

The government doesn't design things they need.  rather they define capabilities and standards and leave the design and execution to the private companies.

For example, in the case of the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane.  They defined the elevation and speed they wanted the plane to fly to avoid getting shot down.  Then they left it to industry to design the plane and cameras to get the job done.  Of course, in the case of NASA, they had a more hands-on approach, especially testing.  When I worked as a crypto tech for the USAF, all the manuals were titled NSA National Security Agency, the spy agency.  But when I delved into the manuals, I found out all the crypto equipment was manufactured by private companies.

She was just recently elected as a first-time congresswoman.  She blew apart a good deal for NY and New Yorkers right out of the gate all for political reasons.  She's a lightweight when it comes to business and the economy.  Of course, the biased left-wing press is in love with her so she can do no wrong.

What do you think the engineers at NASA do all day? Hang out in the break room playing chess and drinking coffee?

Maybe she is smarter than those two, but not as smart as Jeff Bezos.
Bezos saw that there would be nothing but aggravation going forward.  He would be challenged at every move Amazon did.  He figured that if he wasn't going to be welcomed, he'd go elsewhere where people wanted Amazon.  Remember, dozens of cities competed to get them to move into their city, that's how valuable it would be for them.  So, why go where they're going to take potshots at you all the time? Think about how well Amazon is doing with the Covid as other firms are failing, and NYC is shut down.  Think of how more valuable they would be now to NYC with their expansions to meet the market demands for them.

What she did hurt NY.  She should have joined in with the Mayor and Governor in supporting it.  But she got caught up in the silly arguments it was an unfair deal, which it wasn't.  Imagine having an Amazon headquarters in your city providing so many jobs.  Think of all the other jobs that are created with support services?  She's a dummy.

She was just recently elected as a first-time congresswoman.

She was just recently elected re-elected as a first-time second term congresswoman. She was re-elected with a vote percentage of 72% a few months ago. It appears the voters in her district overwhelmingly support her.

She blew apart a good deal for NY and New Yorkers right out of the gate all for political reasons.  She's a lightweight when it comes to business and the economy.  Of course, the biased left-wing press is in love with her so she can do no wrong.

As a response to a lengthy article, to which I provided a link, detailing the multiple reasons for Amazon's decision, your reply seems very narrowly focused.

I said she made the stink about Amazon for political reasons.  In the process, she hurt the very people who support her.  There's no accounting for voter stupidity.

So as a first term congresswoman, she out maneuvered Cuomo and deBlasio. She doesn't sound like a lightweight to me.

I agree with you on that. Look at the number of votes that Trump received. Although he couldn't even convince a majority of voters in either the election that he won or the one he lost—let alone 72%.
