Here's why. First off, did what she did, (which is still under scrutiny), affect her husbands voting? Notice too his descent on releasing Trump's demand to injunct documents requested for the House Select Committee. That matters! Here's more and why for anyone interested in the facts:
https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-was-clarence-thomas-lone-dissenter-trump-jan-6-documents-1716895

I get that, sort of. She may have one of many people influencing Thomas and so doesn't deserve any less attention than any of them. And she did appear to go public with her statements. Insofar as that goes, fair game. That might not have been the best example to use.

Maybe the requirements or demands or expectations placed on first ladies are closer to the issue that I am getting at. It seems to me as if the Presidential first lady, at least, is supposed to do certain things. If they choose to, well that's their business, but I get the impression that it's considered to be part the "job". I am not very keen on that. I have to add that Biden's wife has more or less stayed in the background, or at least that's the impression I get. Maybe it's a personal choice on their part and I'm reading too much into it.

...  If the situation was reversed, and she was the wife of a Democrat selected justice, Democrats would be calling her attackers misogynistic, plain anti-woman, ...

But everything in America is turned into politics and used as the tip of a spear to poke the other side.  It's just a lot of political noise. It's good that you see through it.

That seems like partisan conjecture on your part. There's plenty of dumb-ass "wokefullness" around, not just on the left. there's no need to invent any.

As for your last sentence, I'd have to call you one of the worst culprits at ascribing partisan politics to just about anything. Surely you concede that. Geez, you even accuse Canadians of supporting Biden, which is a little meaningless.

I don't think those facts are indispute, it's what they mean. If all these people were arrested then they didn't get in, right? And the US has no control over who arrives at the border trying to get in. If you have any numbers on how many evade CBP and are now in the country illegally, that might be of interest.
They are arrested inside the US after they crossed illegally through a wide-open border. Most of those arrested are then released into the US with the stipulation that they report to immigration authorities for further processing later on, but most of those never do.

The US could and should have control over who arrives at the border and certainly prevent anyone from crossing it illegally. The Stay-in-Mexico policy and a border wall come to mind. A country without effective borders will cease to exist as a civil society.

Yes, I did quote such a number: in May 2022 alone ~50,000 evaded the CBP.

First ladies and the president don't have nor need to recuse* themselves as they judge such issues.

NO ONE has disputed various numbers.
EVERYONE has ignored your ridiculous flat earth conspiracy theories as to why. I of course pasted this nonsense in context which you of course didn't understand and/or conveniently ignored as expected.

Then go away for a few weeks as you usually do when nearly everyone here mocks your silliness. We expect you to return and poop on the carpet again.
You've got to love the behaviour of someone who about once a month walks into the room, takes a dump on the carpet and departs, never to be seen again until next month.

Shouldn't we go back to the issue at hand? Illegal immigration and an open border? BTW, 85% of this country's adults think this country is on the wrong track and among democrats it's an astounding 80%! How about that?

EVERYONE has ignored your ridiculous flat earth conspiracy theories as to why.

Ideological zealots don't ask why. They aren't interested in truths which are complex. They are trying to sell something very simple... FEAR!

It's easy. Create a false framework and then inject some FEAR into it...

...a wide-open border...

False

A country without effective borders will cease to exist as a civil society.

existential FEAR!

Then just rinse and repeat... rinse and repeat... then get others to parrot the same thing over and over and over. Do it consistently and constantly for years and you can drive people crazy enough with fear to believe whatever BIG LIE you're selling them. Then you work on the other emotion that drives human beings which is love. We love you. We love you because you're very special, because you're one of us not one of Them... those OTHERS. It's been done time and again throughout history.

When you get called on spreading false narratives — and you will be — the solution is also simple. Just create a false equivalence and accuse the OTHER of something with unceasing repetition. Downplay, Deny, Deflect, Distract, Delude, and you can Disregard reality and the fact that truth is usually complex.

People who live their lives in fear always seem to want a lot of company.

"...a wide-open border...": False

OK, you're on. My position: the Southern border is wide open because hundreds of thousands of people who illegally crossed it are intercepted every month and tens of thousands a month cross it illegally without being intercepted.

How is that not wide open?

It isn't necessarily propaganda and false narratives all the time, however...

How is that not wide open?

Because a great many ARE being intercepted, the border is NOT wide-open would be my first guess in this game you want to play.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary - wide-open

Definition of wide-open: having virtually no limits or restrictions

example: a wide-open town

First Known Use of wide-open: 1858, in the meaning defined above

Your position has a poor understanding of what words mean. Likely, the poor understanding is intentional in order to engender and amplify fear in people.

What game would you like to play next?

Speaking of Justice Thomas:

Quote
Justice Thomas cites debunked claim that Covid vaccines are made with cells from 'aborted children'
Thomas cited the claims in a dissent to the Supreme Court’s refusal to take up a challenge by health care workers who opposed New York's vaccine mandate on religious grounds.
Not that facts, science, truth and data matter to this guy (like a few two posting here):

Quote
Pfizer and Moderna used fetal cell lines early in their Covid vaccine development to test the efficacy of their formulas, as other vaccines have in the past. The fetal tissue used in these processes came from elective abortions that happened decades ago. But the cells have since replicated many times, so none of the original tissue is involved in the making of modern vaccines. So it is not true that Covid vaccines are manufactured using fetal cell lines, nor do they contain any aborted cells.

Rather, the vaccines contain messenger RNA

What is up next: Justice Thomas cites debunked election claim from his wife?

It is so much easier to persuade, motivate, and manipulate people thru their emotions than thru reason. Emotions like fear and love are basic survival functions that operate all of the time at primal levels.

Whether you're selling deodorant or political ideology, the principle is the same. Appeal to fear and then tell people they will be loved by someone or some group if they buy what you're selling.

That's funny.

It's meant to be funny. It's satire.

At the same time, it's trying to illuminate a tragic situation thru the use of satire. Are you also able to see the tragedy?
