The 167 page report is right here: https://dogandlemon.com/sites/default/files/the-emperors-new-car.pdf
Wow Frans, that's an oldly and a moldy; copyrighted in 2010. Got anything more recent, like ALL the URLs I provided (year or less) you didn't read but immediately dismissed?
Did you hear Kodak released a digital camera? It's the DCS 100, I had one, you should check it out.

If Tesla insists on non-standard connectors, why is that the country's problem.

As explained in one of my previous posts, Tesla developed their Supercharger standard in 2012 when the government and other car manufacturers looked down at Tesla as a toy.
Other car makers and group consortiums like Eltrify America developed their chargers much later. Recently, Tesla opened their chargers to a pilot project allowing charging other cars in Netherlands and will offer it eventually everywhere else. Other car makers and group consortiums like Electrify America developed their chargers much later.

Quote
The Superchargers are open to cars with the Combined Charging System (CCS) favored by BMW (BMWG.DE), Mercedes-Benz maker Daimler (DAIGn.DE), Ford (F.N) and the Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE), which includes Audi and Porsche.

Tesla uses the CCS standard in Europe, allowing a wide range of cars to charge in stations without an adapter that uses a similar connector.

Below is a link to an useful article describing the various charging methods and physical connectors/adapters.

Exactly my feelings when people here tell me to watch their recommended Youtube videos or listen to their podcasts.

Who needs information or facts when you have a fervent imagination?

Frans, I don't know where you get your information but my sources show the exact opposite.

Too new, don't you know that technology stopped dead in its tracks in 2010, when Frans got his "information" about EVs?  ;)

Well that's exactly what's been going on in the biased news media.

The ever present and handy scapegoat. It never fails to shoulder the blame... in some circles.

Little bit of the topic, but nevertheless interesting story about Russian hackers penetrating two US companies and obtaining insider trading data.

Quote
According to a Federal Bureau of Investigation affidavit, the defendants allegedly hacked two U.S. filing agents to obtain access to drafts of earnings press releases of several publicly traded companies, including International Business Machines Corp., Snap Inc., Tesla Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Horizon Therapeutics Plc.

The defendants used the information obtained by hacking to buy shares of companies before they disclosed positive financial results, and shorted companies before they reported negative results, according to the U.S. The defendants are accused of using banks and brokerages in Cyprus, Denmark, Portugal, Russia and the U.S.

You haven't explained how you're getting past Germany;s record of 2 1/2 times America cost for electricity since they went around 50% green.

Where is it written that energy should be cheap? Fact is it isn't and it never was.

It's just that countries have let the resource companies get away with passing on troublesome externalities onto the taxpayer. That is, the consumers of energy have heretofore not been paying the full price the energy. Call that what you will, but it's the taxpayer subsidizing the oil and gas companies, the very thing you often rail against. So in the early 20th century they ignored all environmental damage and that kept the prices low. But eventually the taxpayer has to pay to clean up that damage, and that's part of the price. You can pretend it's not if you like but that's self-delusion.

I suspect a similar thing may be going on today in battery design and construction, no one is lily white when it comes to making a buck. But at least nowadays there is something pushing the researchers to develop processes and materials that are (or should be) sustainable. That's the entire point of environmental regulation, to avoid Love Canals. And there's no a priori reason to expect that to be cheap. It costs what it costs. What is clean air and water worth to you? Full-frame cameras aren't cheap but people buy those.

It would be interesting to compare all the subsidies that Big Oil has received over the decades with the amount of EV rebates that you're so worried about.

Also, I have asked you this many times before and you've never answered. Why are you so hell bent against unions? They are Americans and citizens, same as you. Do you think you're better than them?

Hum... highly disturbing.

The US is not considered anymore to be a democracy according to metrics used by the CIA to assess how foreign nations rank.

Yes, US is very polarized.
Republicans vs Democrats, IOS vs Android, Macs vs Windows, ICE motorists vs EV fans, ChurchGoers vs Atheists, Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated and Vegans vs MeatEaters.
Fortunately, the Nikon vs Canon conflict was made less threatening by the arrival of Sony and Fuji a few years ago.

The US Secret Service has been recruited to track the fraudulent Covid Aid cases.

Quote
The US Secret Service is stepping up its efforts to claw back some of the billions of dollars that Covid-19-related fraud has cost the economy by tapping a senior official to work with law enforcement agencies across the country on the issue.

Roy Dotson, who has spent nearly three decades in law enforcement, will be the agency's point person for working with big banks to seize stolen Covid-19 recovery funds, and with the Justice Department to help crack down on the scammers. The goal is to "maximize our investigative impact" and "recover as much as we can" in stolen money, Dotson told CNN. He is also the assistant special agent in charge in the Secret Service's Jacksonville field office. The Secret Service says its work has led to the seizure of more than $1.2 billion and return of more than $2.3 billion in ill-gotten gains. One hundred people have been arrested.

The roughly $2 trillion coronavirus relief package known as the CARES Act that became law in March 2020 brought unemployment benefits and loans to millions of Americans, but it also opened up opportunities for criminals to exploit those programs by fraudulently applying for aid. Crane Hassold, a former FBI analyst who is now director of threat intelligence at security firm Abnormal Security, said the CARES Act was "essentially a scammer's World Series and Super Bowl rolled up into one." "Using platforms like Telegram or WhatsApp, scammers openly share techniques and best practices about how to most effectively submit fraudulent pandemic-related claims in channels dedicated to the topic," Hassold told CNN.

Why is everyone jumping on Frans?  You're failing to address the elephant in the room.  The fact is Germany which made 50% of their country renewables to lower cost, has seen the cost of electricity go up 2 1/2 fold.  Germans are paying so much more for electricity overall.  So while one can argue about the relative costs of EVs vs. fossil-fueled cars, the fact is overall energy costs for Germany have gone up.  So who cares if they save a little on EVs when the cost for electricity overall has raised their energy costs?  They're still paying more.  These are current costs and statistics too, not any from 2010.

One of the main arguments from the greenies is that renewables save cost for energy.  So now you're admitting that was a lie.  Those were fake facts used to sell renewables.

Regarding unions, I have nothing against them, per se. I've also answered this question of yours a number of times.  It's just that the government should not use taxpayer money to favor unions and raise the cost of projects paid for by me and other taxpayers.  It's my money the government is spending.  Government projects should be competitively bid without rules favoring unions to get the work.  If you own a non-union shop, why should you be effectively excluded from the bidding process?  That's unfair.  Biden's rules in the infrastructure bill passed and in the BBB not passed, favored unions.  Even companies from your Canada opposed it like Tesla as they will get punished as well because of Biden's favoritism toward unions.

More anti-Trump delirium syndrome. Please. If we're closer to less democracy it's because Democrats favor more government power and control and redistribution of wealth which is antithetical to democracy and liberty.

One reason for the high electricity costs in Germany is that they decommisioned most of their nuclear and coal plants and replaced them with solar and wind farms. Many of their renewable energy plants were built in the early yeras when that tecchnology was more expensive than now. They will close more of their nuclear plants this year leaving them only with 3 remaining nuclear plants.

Democratas don't believe in free markets in general.

There are no free markets.  Every market is controlled by someone, somewhere, even if you refuse to see it or admit its presence.
The only free market is Mother Nature.  We're all witness recently to how she works.

Of course.  That's their job.  That's why we have libraries, police, fire departments, highways, safety regulations, building codes...  We've been down this road before Alan, but you refuse to admit the road is even there.  Some things (most things, in fact) work better for everyone when they're regulated and managed for the common good rather than individual greed.

Take the trucking industry as a recent example.  It's fucked.  Why?  Because greedy capitalist politicians deregulated it.  Which begs the question "Why was it regulated in the first place?"

That's my point.  The greenies promised us cheaper electric costs with renewables.  Why doesn't the press talk about these higher costs and stop misinforming the public? (That's a rhetorical question.) ;)
