Putin must be chuckling.

It shows incompetence. Today the chairman of the DNC is calling for a recount on Iowa.   That'll certainly make Sanders supporters cry foul.   They're trying to help another candidate,  Biden this time. If Sanders wins the most votes during the nomination process,  and the Democrats nominate someone else,  the Sanders supporters won't show up for the election. Teump could take California.

To be honest, I sincerely hope Sanders does not win.

Although I think the chance is low that he could bet Trump, there is still a chance and I would not want a devote communist as president.  The economy would completely tank.

The way things went in Iowa, I'd say there's a 2 to 1 chance the Democrat nomination will be won by Trump.  :)

You're not the only one, it seems: a venerable news outlet has an interesting view of developments.

This is what you can expect if Democrats win:

“Criminals would be protected from deportation under bill AOC and other House Democrats back”

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/tucker-carlson-criminals-would-be-protected-from-deportation-under-bill-aoc-and-other-house-democrats-back

Quote
Current law also states that those who have committed drug crimes abroad, or any “crimes involving moral turpitude,” are ineligible to immigrate here. The New Way Forward Act abolishes that statute.

A Mexican drug cartel leader could be released from prison, then freely come to America immediately. And if he wants, he could come here illegally, and it wouldn’t be a crime – because, and you were waiting for this, the bill also decriminalizes illegal entry into America, even by those previously deported.

According to a document promoting the bill, criminalizing illegal entry into America is “white supremacist.”

Quote
But believe it or not, we saved the nuttiest part for last. What could be more destructive than changing U.S. law, specifically to allow rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers to stay in America? How about this: Using taxpayer money to bring deported criminals back into America.

From 2002 to 2018, 480,000 people were deported for illegal entry or reentry into America. And under this bill, you’d have to buy them all a plane ticket to come back. The tickets alone would cost about a billion dollars, and that’s before Democrats make you start paying for these criminals’ free health care, too.

This isn’t funny anymore, so no three laughing smiles from me this time.

Not really. The other one on Trump was making fun of him. Now we have a chance to make fun of Democrats.

The "impeachment" Kabuki was a great success for Trump and the Republicans. There are something like 40 House Democrats in districts carried by Trump whose reelection now is in doubt. Looks as if the "impeachment" was a real step toward the Republicans taking back the House. The Senate is likely to be more securely in Republican hands, and considering the sorry lineup of Democrat presidential wannabes Trump will win reelection in a walk. It's a happy outcome for the Republicans.

Dems lose another one against Trump.  This just isn't their week.

That's how it started 100 years ago. One concession at a time, one appeasement at a time, and the fearless leader owns the party

Quote
Rise To Power
Discharged from the hospital amid the social chaos that followed Germany’s defeat, Hitler took up political work in Munich in May–June 1919. As an army political agent, he joined the small German Workers’ Party in Munich (September 1919). In 1920 he was put in charge of the party’s propaganda and left the army to devote himself to improving his position within the party, which in that year was renamed the National-sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi). Conditions were ripe for the development of such a party. Resentment at the loss of the war and the severity of the peace terms added to the economic woes and brought widespread discontent.

This one was always a stretch: two other emoluments cases still pending. Secret Service is paying $650/night for rooms at Trump properties.

What does Hitler have to do with finding Democrats acting unconstitutionally?

Slobodan and Alan,

if you don't like the Hitler and Nazi comparison, I can point out also to Klement Gottwald and communists taking over Czechoslovakia in 1948.
The analogy between Nazis, Communists and Republicans (at this time) is that the cowards and spineless followers in the respective parties were fearful of their leader, didn't want to rock the boat, and allowed ostracizing (and worse) of their honest and brave colleagues. The 2020 State Of The Union reminds very strongly of Nazis and Communists clapping and cheering their leaders, and Trumps attacks of Romney, Comey and others are as hateful as of the aforementioned despots.

I wasn't around the watch the Nazis, but I've seen Communists in Czechoslovakia and there are quite a few parallels between them and Trump.

Hi Les,
I can agree that all politics has this at it's core...On EVERY side. That's what politics are all about.

But  Romney saying his religious beliefs were at the core of his decision to vote to expel Trump is a bit too far beyond belief.  And he stating that he is a deeply religious man. When he was conducting business and made billions for him and his partners and crushed corporations and destroyed peoples lives in the doing, just where were his religious convictions then???

The reason for his vote sickens me. If he just said the truth that he despises Trump, I would applaud him for his honesty.
Politicians truly disgust me...no matter the brand. I wish the people of this country would forgo party, and be only Americans.

Peter
