Well, I heard Democrats are desperate to find a candidate (that is not Angry Birdie) having at least a minimal chance of beating Trump... Romney, perhaps? 🤣

I don't know what you mean by funny. It's not funny, it's right on point.

Ok, I agree. It is not funny. Nor on point. Just plan stupid. I was trying to be charitable.

Alan, I second Joe's motion that you are overthinking this.

The politicians are elected not based on their sexual preferences, and whether they prefer to be on top or bottom (and even in the heterosexual relationships some women like to play the dominant role), but to do things like rising and lowering taxes, cutting ribbons and pretending putting shovels into the ground, and dropping bombs on the bad guys.

Whether they are called husbands, wives, or partners is completely irrelevant. Actually, I'd find it much more offending if a woman called me honey or sweetie.
80% of the people vote based on what party they belong too.  The press makes a bigger deal out of policy and that stuff.  The rest of the voters tend to vote on personality and other intangibles beside policy.  Charisma has a bigger effect than what the guy thinks about taxes or the JCPOA.  I hope you don;t get offended if your wife calls you honey or sweetie.  At least in private.  :)

That's what the conventional wisdom says. They also predicted that Biden will do well. But the Iowa results speak otherwise.
As to honey or sweetie, my wife knew better not to use those words. However, several of my neighbours and my brother in law were responding positively when called that way.

Like I said elsewhere, I think Pelosi hurt Biden more than she hurt Trump.  Regardless of whether Trump should have done what he did or not, it raised the question in some people's minds just whether Biden is corrupt or not by not staying out of Ukraine policy.  Well, that thread is closed.  It will be interesting to see what happens in So. Carolina with Biden where there's a big black population, whether he'll be able to pull them out to vote for him.  If not, he's finished.  I think many American think he's over-the-hill.  A nice guy, but incompetent.

How are Democrats going to run the country when they can;t even run one's state's election?   It looks like they'll never be able to confirm the final results.

Putin must be chuckling.

It shows incompetence. Today the chairman of the DNC is calling for a recount on Iowa.   That'll certainly make Sanders supporters cry foul.   They're trying to help another candidate,  Biden this time. If Sanders wins the most votes during the nomination process,  and the Democrats nominate someone else,  the Sanders supporters won't show up for the election. Teump could take California.
