LULA has always been a great resource and even mentor for me in the past decade, we are all very fortunate to have had Michael implement his passion for photography as a pioneer on the internet in this regard. I have also been introduced to many other fine photographers, printers and mentors via LULA whom I would not know about otherwise.

Rest in peace Mr. Reichmann, thanks for generously passing on your love and incredible knowledge of photography to us.

During the last weeks I was wondering why there were no comments or articles from Michael......and even thought that something was maybe wrong......this morning when  I opened the LL page and saw the picture of Michael with a tripod and a camera I first thought ..."well, Michael is back and this is probably an article about the last Phase One camera...great!", but as I moved down and read that there was a sad day I was shocked........I will miss him, his articles, comments and videos.....his videos with Jeff were not only great as educative but also as a moment of fun and I would say a "classic".  Both, Michale and Jeff,  constituted a perfect couple for such videos. I have all of them and I will revisit some tonight to remember him and the nice moments that I "shared" with them in the videos  in the not so far past. My condolences to his family and near friends.

It is with a very heavy heart that I must share sad news with our readers and the rest of the photographic community.  After an extended battle with cancer, the Founder of Luminous-Landscape, Michael Reichmann, has passed away.  He was surrounded by family and friends over the last few weeks.  He put up a valiant fight.  He passed late on May 18th at age 71.

Very sad to hear it. I met him in his studio in Toronto about 10 years ago. I have watched his many videos and learned a lot.

Such a profound voice in our world of photography.  I have lost count of the number of times I've shared the ETTR article with friends making the transition to digital.

But more enduring is the sense of the man that Michael Reichmann was - that we felt through his words: adult, civil, Canadian, humble, funny, with a gravitas of knowledge and experience.

We should all strive to be as kind and sharing with our fellow human beings as MR was.

So very, very sad to hear this news.  Even though I never met him personally, Michael was very special to me - he taught me so much through this site.  My heart is heavy, and I will miss him very much.
