Michael taught me an enormous amount about photography, art, and how to see the world around us. The images he created were a constant source of delight. My deepest condolences to Kevin, Chris, and Michael's family.

Rest in peace, Michael. You will be missed.

I'm going to be honest, and say that this sucks. I had always hoped to meet Michael on one of the LL adventures. I've been a reader of this site for most of it's existence. Michael was a huge inspiration to my photography. His articles on photographic craft always had great nuggets of useful techniques - both artistic and equipment related. His honest gear reviews, along with his real world user experience, were second to none. When I was making the switch from film to digital (many years ago now), Michael's articles were the most helpful. I only know him from what others have said about him, but he just seemed like such a talented, fun guy, with a gift for teaching. Thanks to his foresight and generosity, his legacy will live on. Thank you, Michael!

To those closest to him, I can only say that I am so sorry for your loss. He was an amazing, generous man, who gave a TON back to the photographic community.

Oh my. I learned so much from Michael. His photography, writings, and videos are so engaging, I felt I got to know him. Sad day indeed.

Oh crap ... this is a very sad start of the day for me. LL is the only site I pay subscription for and it's in large part due to Michaels work.

Can't find suitable words to express my feelings. It's as if a part of my daily routine, practiced for years, suddenly vanished. It's that stupid feeling when you stop in the middle of something you are used doing and realize you can't do it anymore. Leaves an empty space in your soul.

Such sad news. Although his absence was felt this still comes as a shock. Hard to believe the lovely Michael Reichmann is no longer with us.
I only knew Michael from "Print and Screen" his print and screen endeavours were and still are a huge source of inspiration, information and plain fun for me.
Thank you Michael for all your contributions to the photographic community be it amateurs, professionals and the industry.
I still remember fondly his rant against proprietary raw. "Once I press the shutter the picture is mine". May his legacy live on.
My heartfelt condolences to this family, friends, Lula team and the photographic community.

A thought of love for his family and close friends, I could not meet him in person, but having seen hours of his videos has made him close to my heart and strengthened my love for photography. I will miss him very much.

How lucky we all are that Michael brought his wisdom, humor and humanity into our lives through the Luminous Landscape. He built a wonderful community of artists and left behind a great legacy for us all to appreciate and live up to.

Very sorry to hear this. I've been busy the last couple of days delivering bone marrow across Europe. Thoughts are with anyone out there battling cancer in any form.
