"Bad stock photos of my job". Very funny. ##31 and 59 might particularly appeal.

This story was told to me as being true.

A local was driving down a rural road in Maine. He noticed an out-of-state car stopped on the side of the road, so he stopped to see if they needed help. The driver said “No, we’re just waiting to see the moose.”

“What makes you think you’ll see a moose here?” my friend asked.

The driver pointed down the road to a Moose Crossing sign that had a blinking orange warning light. “See,” said the driver, “that blinking light means one’s coming.”

I can believe it, Peter.

Just the other day I saw (here in Massachusetts) a sign that said "Trail Crossing Ahead." I turned to my wife and said, "Maybe I should stop to watch when the trail goes across the road."
(No, I didn't stop.)

Whenever I see a sign near construction works reading "Warning: heavy plant crossing", I wait for a large triffid.

A client of mine got hired to design a new Indian Motorcycle dealership.  As is usually the case, they hung their credentials and name on the job site fence at the beginning of the project, long before you could tell what the place was going to be.

The owner, who is a hand full, had a huge banner sign printed saying, "The Indians Are Coming!" and hung it across the fence.  My client got angry phone calls non-stop for months.

Sensitivity training?

For the owner or the callers?

If the former, I'd doubt it would take.  Another photographer I know did a shoot for the location with a young female model, and needed to have the owner removed from the shoot due to over the top comments he made to the model.  Like I said, he's a hand full; thankfully I shot the location for the architects and only had to marginally deal with him.

Too true.

I like it. I'll have you know that my wife once described my handwriting as, "like the EKG of a dead man."

An elderly woman went into a bank and up to a teller window. "I want to withdraw $20 please."

The teller replied "I am sorry ma'am, for withdrawals less than $200 we ask that you use the ATM outside."

"But I want you to do it for me!"

"Sorry, but it's bank policy."

"Can I withdraw $1,000?"

"Certainly." They do the paperwork an he hands the woman $1,000.

"Now," says the woman, "I want to make a $980 deposit."

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

I came across two roads during my automobile rally days. One was called Sodom, somewhere south of St. Catharines Ontario. The other was called Gomorrah, which was south of Belleville, Ontario. I think they still exist although development could have altered the roadways a lot since then. It's too bad they are hundreds of kilometres apart. Wouldn't it have been too funny if they intersected. Someone living in a house there could tell their friends that they lived at Sodom and Gomorrah. I bet they could throw some wild parties.

Importance of individual rights...

This isn't even remotely funny, but political. Post it in the political threads, please. Leave humor alone.

I agree. I've moved it.

[later - I would have moved it, had I been able to, but as I can't, I haven't]
