More kraken stuff:

"Powell on Tuesday filed an affidavit from Ron Watkins, the son of 8kun’s owner Jim Watkins, in a Georgia lawsuit alleging that Dominion Voting Systems machines used in the election had been corrupted as part of a sprawling voter-fraud conspiracy."

"No real evidence was included in Watkins’s affidavit, either. But Watkins, who said in the affidavit that he lives in Japan, nevertheless speculated that — based on his recent reading of the Dominion software’s online user guide — it may be “within the realm of possibility” for a biased poll worker to fraudulently switch votes."

To boost voter-fraud claims, Trump advocate Sidney Powell turns to unusual source: The longtime operator of QAnon’s Internet home

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/12/01/powell-cites-qanon-watkins/

I don't think that "within the realm of possibility" meets the burden of proof. The burden of proof in a civil case is preponderance of the evidence.

It's the same as saying that it is in the realm of possibility that the male poll worker raped his female assistant. After all, he had the equipment.

Oh and there is the Trump Presidental Library to create. Comic books and old Playboy mags?

Luckily, you can already visit the online version of his library here (fastest online ever!):  https://djtrumplibrary.com/

This shouldn't be happening in a rich, developed, civilized society. Brings tears to my eyes:

Indeed - meanwhile friends of government ministers get massive contracts for supplying PPE and other medical equipment despite having no experience in this area. Tory snouts in the trough.

A repetitive and rather inarticulate response from someone who prides himself on his written English.

The eloquence of my responses is directly proportional to the ridiculousness of your posts.

Relax.  It's hyperbole. No one's shooting anyone.  And we're not going to war. After five years of Trump, you should know better.  He speaks figuratively.  Don't take him literally.
But his rhetoric is making life for some of his Republican party members and their families quite uncomfortable: Georgia election official implores Trump to stop fraud rhetoric, fears 'someone's going to get hurt'
This together with "Rhetorical death threats" of one of his lawyers is creating the wrong atmosphere.

If they just show some real evidence in court they'd have my support, but absent that it's a shameful and frivolous exercise that only needs one alt-right moron to pick up his gun to start the misery.

One simple thing Trump could do is to fire that lawyer. “You are fired” would solve a lot of problems.

That would be a start, maybe firing a few more for filing frivolous lawsuits without any concrete evidence would be a good next step.

Interesting read from the right:

Trump's disgraceful endgame

And before the messenger gets killed (vs. the message itself), this is what the Media Bias/Fact checkers say about the National Review: Overall, we rate the National Review Right Biased based on story selection that always favors the right and Mostly Factual in reporting due to a few misleading claims and occasional use of poor sources and one failed fact check.

Now that the votes have been certified by the states, the closeness of the 2020 race matches the 2016 race in many of the same swing states. (The electoral vote was the same 306 vs 232 by a couple of points).  Out of millions of votes in three key states: "just 44,000 votes in Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin separated Biden and Trump from a tie in the Electoral College."

Our British friends here who couldn't wait to get rid of Trump are in for a rude awakening.  This is Biden trying to protect American interests and simultaneously win back old-time Democrats to the Democratic Party who strayed recently to the Republicans due to Trump. This is a good sign that he hopefully won't give away the farms to Iran and China either.

Joe Biden warning dashes UK hopes of early US trade deal
Britain’s hopes of securing an early trade deal with the US have been dashed by a warning from Joe Biden, the president-elect, that America will not sign a trade deal with anyone until the US has sorted out its competitiveness.

Britain had been closing in on a trade deal with the administration of Donald Trump, a fierce opponent of the European Union, but Biden has said in a New York Times interview that his priorities will be to improve investment in US manufacturing and the protection of American workers.

“I’m not going to enter any new trade agreement with anybody until we have made major investments here at home and in our workers and in education,” he said.

It's also telling Georgian democrats to vote for Democrat senators in the January election.  Let's hope Biden is going back to his centrist roots.

Biden's statement about China tariffs and trade matches his statement about the UK.  The only thing that concerns me is using our allies to put pressure on China.  I think he'd be better off going it alone like Trump because our allies are more interested in selling their products to China than helping us or even themselves over the long run.

Biden says will not kill Phase 1 trade deal with China immediately: NYT
“I’m not going to make any immediate moves, and the same applies to the tariffs. I’m not going to prejudice my options,” President-elect Biden told Friedman.

Biden said he would pursue policies targeting China’s “abusive practices,” such as “stealing intellectual property, dumping products, illegal subsidies to corporations” and forcing “tech transfers” from U.S. companies to Chinese counterparts.

But he also stressed the need to develop a bipartisan consensus at home and focus government efforts on investments in research and development, infrastructure and education that would allow companies to compete better with Chinese rivals.

“I want to make sure we’re going to fight like hell by investing in America first,” Biden said.

“The best China strategy, I think, is one which gets every one of our — or at least what used to be our — allies on the same page.”

This was a fantasy of the Brexiteers - replacing trade with a continent across the Channel with one across the Atlantic.  It was never likely to happen anyway so nothing has been lost, and a lot of us are relieved that we won't have to deal with US food imports.

One interesting aspect of Trump's efforts to screw up Biden's peresidency is his decision to blacklist CNOOC (Chinese National Offshore Oil Company) who are partners with Exxon on the huge Guyana fields.  Will he really penalise Exxon for his own selfish personal reasons?

As Obama learned, each new president can reverse presidential orders of the prior presidents in most cases.  The issue with Exxon is Biden promises "green". So I don't know how favorable Biden will be to the oil companies.  Frankly, if it helps Americans, he should do what's best for us.  That may be to follow Trump's lead.  I'm not familiar with this case.  Maybe you can fill us in.

Well, if Trump remained president, there may have been a deal.  But knowing Trump, we would have gotten the better part of it.  So you may get a better deal eventually from Biden.  But the point is, American presidents are concerned about our interests just as British PM's are concerned rightly about yours.  What you guys weren't use to under Trump was how tough he was regarding these things.  That's the main reason other countries didn't like him.  He wouldn't give ice away in winter. They had been used to more compliant presidents.  It will be interesting to see how Biden turns out.

The CNOOC issue is this:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-11-30/u-s-to-add-china-s-smic-cnooc-to-blacklist-reuters-says
which on the face of it would limit Exxon's ability to partner with the Chinese company, but in fact they are ALREADY partners on a very big development in Guyana.

For those who haven't seen this, a short hard hitting talk by a Georgia election official, https://twitter.com/leahmcelrath/status/1333952013374271489?s=11, condemning political behaviour in the face of threats made against officials.

Also, this call to action by a man of god, https://www.newsweek.com/pastor-urges-trump-admin-shoot-democrats-journalists-if-they-conspired-rig-election-1551246?amp=1. I wonder where it says to do this in the bible.
