I don’t have any idea what meaning that statement is intended to convey.
Trump's arguments to circumvent the rules aren't being accepted by the courts.  This happens in every lawsuit. So one claims something and the other party claims the opposite.  Someone is wrong and someone is right and the courts decide. That's how democracy and our legal system work.

Someone thought the rules didn't apply to them or they were right and the other party was wrong, etc.  People here are claiming Trump has no right to object.  Of course he does.  It goes to court where these things are decided.

This shouldn't be happening in a rich, developed, civilized society. Brings tears to my eyes:

Very tragic situation indeed. The video is very impactful.

As I have said on several occasions, I think Trump is within his rights to bring these lawsuits. While I think for the most part they are frivolous and lacking in any evidentiary support, for which a judge may sanction both the attorneys and the parties under Rule 11, there is nothing that prevents him from filing them.

I am also mindful of the admonition that just because you can do something does not mean you should do something. I believe that Trump knows that he will not be successful in overturning the election with these lawsuits and is therefore filing them in bad faith. I believe he is doing so for the express purpose of conning money out of his supporters to pay off his campaign debt and to fund his new political action committee to advance his future political agenda. That is between him and his supporters, unless it rises to the level of fraud.  Of course others may have a different opinion about his motives. You are free to entertain whatever opinion you wish.

Typical Fox BS story....
Quote
On Monday, Fox News host Sean Hannity said on his radio show that the President should pardon his family and himself to avoid being prosecuted by the incoming Biden administration.
"The President out the door needs to pardon his whole family and himself," Hannity said, later adding, "I assume that the power of the pardon is absolute, and that he should be able to pardon anybody that he wants to."
Nearly 49 days to see what pans out.  ;)

Typical Justice Department BS story???

The Justice Department is investigating a potential crime related to funneling money to the White House or related political committee in exchange for a presidential pardon, according to court records unsealed Tuesday in federal court.

The case is the latest legal twist in the waning days of President Donald Trump's administration after several of his top advisers have been convicted of federal criminal charges and as the possibility rises of Trump giving pardons to those who've been loyal to him.

The disclosure is in 20 pages of partially redacted documents made public by the DC District Court on Tuesday afternoon. The records show Chief Judge Beryl Howell's review in August of a request from prosecutors to access documents obtained in a search as part of a bribery-for-pardon investigation.

You may be right.  He is the kind of guy who will run again because he likes the spotlight.  In four years he'll still be younger than Biden is now, I believe.  That means he'll be on CNN MSNBC and all the other cable shows over the next four years.  They'll need him to keep their ratings up and make millions more from him.  I suppose he'll write a book too like everyone else. Maybe it will be co-authored with Bill Clinton, "How We Beat Impeachment and Laughed All the Way to the Bank".

No other US president ever needed a preemptive pardon.

Some legal experts like Laurence Tribe say he can't but of course he probably will try.

Younger maybe, but healthier I doubt it. Trump is obese and has had previous medical issues these past few years. He does not look healthy.

Once again, your beliefs are iffy. Trump is 3 years and change younger but much fatter.
And yes, in four years he will still be 3 years younger than Joe is now.
But what's a few months or millions of dollars or 300dpi? 😛
Biden just had a Bday in October, Trump is June. Trump would be a tad older then, than Joe.

The records show Chief Judge Beryl Howell's review in August of a request from prosecutors to access documents obtained in a search as part of a bribery-for-pardon investigation.[/i]

At the end of this summer, a filter team, used to make sure prosecutors don’t receive tainted evidence that should have been kept from them because it was privileged, had more than 50 digital devices including iPhones, iPads, laptops, thumb drives and computer drives after investigators raided the unidentified offices.

Prosecutors told the court they wanted permission to the filter team’s holdings. The prosecutors believed the devices revealed emails that showed allegedly criminal activity, including a “secret lobbying scheme” and a bribery conspiracy that offered “a substantial political contribution in exchange for a presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence” for a convicted defendant whose name is redacted, according to the redacted documents.

Communications between attorneys and clients are typically privileged and kept from prosecutors as they build their cases, but in this situation, Chief Judge Beryl Howell allowed the prosecutors access. Attorney-client communications are not protected as privileged under the law when there is discussion of a crime, among other exceptions.

I kind of doubt it. He'll be on Fox, Newsmax and OAN where anchors and reporters will suck up to him. Just as today.

On a not entirely different subject,

Trump, allegedly, is concerned that a Biden Justice Department might seek retribution against the president by targeting the oldest three of his five children — Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump — as well as Ms. Trump’s husband, Mr. Kushner.

The nature of Mr. Trump’s concern about any potential criminal exposure of Eric Trump or Ivanka Trump is unclear, although an investigation by the Manhattan district attorney into the Trump Organization has expanded to include tax write-offs on millions of dollars in consulting fees by the company, some of which appear to have gone to Ms. Trump.

I doubt it too. And he's going to write a book? He's going to have to find another ghost writer like his other ”writings” in the past.

Presidential pardons cannot release any charges the Manhattan district attorney might file. (These would be under NYS law.) The president cannot pardon activities under the authority of any of the 50 states. Pardons only apply to federal statutes. Of course, tax violations could be applied to NYS income taxes if not federal taxes.  So having the pardon means there could be no federal income tax evasion charges.  Frankly, if what was done to general Flynn and others due to politics, if I was president I would give all these people pardons in advance as well.  There is a lot of hatred around and even if you did nothing, it costs a fortune to defend yourself and your life can be ruined anyway.  The Demcorats should be careful though.  What goes around, comes around.

More kraken stuff:

"Powell on Tuesday filed an affidavit from Ron Watkins, the son of 8kun’s owner Jim Watkins, in a Georgia lawsuit alleging that Dominion Voting Systems machines used in the election had been corrupted as part of a sprawling voter-fraud conspiracy."

"No real evidence was included in Watkins’s affidavit, either. But Watkins, who said in the affidavit that he lives in Japan, nevertheless speculated that — based on his recent reading of the Dominion software’s online user guide — it may be “within the realm of possibility” for a biased poll worker to fraudulently switch votes."

To boost voter-fraud claims, Trump advocate Sidney Powell turns to unusual source: The longtime operator of QAnon’s Internet home

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/12/01/powell-cites-qanon-watkins/

I don't think that "may be within the realm of possibility" meets the burden of proof in a civil case, which is preponderance of the evidence.

I'll leave you with this one tonight:

In Trump's lawsuit to de-certify the Wisconsin election, one of the things his attorneys asked for was video footage from the TFC Center. The TFC Center is located in Detroit, Michigan, and was used to count votes from the Detroit area in the Michigan election. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the election in Wisconsin. Oops. He must not be using real lawyers.
