Thanks for the article.  It seems that the oil exploration is in areas in the South China Sea where CHiona has claimed illegally in my opinion that they own the rights there.  The CHines companies involved are owned by their military. Other countries like Vietnam Taiwan Philippines and others have made claims there as well.  This also has to do with their buildup of military bases on islands others contend they own as well.  Why are we getting involved in areas where these disputes are ongoing and help an adversary to gain more power?  Likewise with the technical stuff that relates to the military.  China has been stealing us blind for thirty years - both commercial and defense secrets and design.  Hopefully, Trump has bucked up Biden to remain tough in our dealings with them.  It also puts Biden in a position that if he reverses Trump's directives, Trump can use it against him in four years when Biden is up for re-election and Trump might run again.   I just hope that Biden isn't vulnerable to Chinese blackmail due to his and his son's dealings with China.
