Rob,

don't you think that after the recent discussion a pink "3" could be misinterpreted? Just take the "twist" as request and turn the pic 90° clockwise and there we go to indecency again...

Sometimes you have to search for ambigiouty;-)

I don't dare, Harald; that would be less than honest as photographer! Worse, personal morality aside, what would happen to the white 3?

I can imagine any number of complaints arise about that from the aternative reality branches of LuLa. Making pink straight would mean the rest was - what?

Sometimes I think it would have been easier taking up politics: I could have stood as an Independent candidate and offered the voters whatever turned them on; wait - isn't that what everybody does already?

I just read that Breitbart gets more page views than pornhub... so it seems the strangest things excite some people.

...

Making the pinks straight mean the rest are perverts. And more, just substitute pink by green, red or brown and you can clearly see the secret sauce of politics.

Jep. That's the concept of deception by ambiguity.

All I can say is Thank You Rob and Harald!

This is much more creative and fun than anything in the Trump II thread, and more substantial, too.   ;)

Thought I might put this here...
The thumb nail image looks quite disappointing. But when I enlarge, oh my, what fine pattern of light and shadow combined with curve movement.

I think Breitbart gets a mention in the Mr Trump Saga thread; I have not looked at it (Breitbart). IMO the entire thread has overrun its course and it's devolved into an endless belt of yes, no, yes, no.... must be the digital influence coming through. Never head of pornhub - probably take hours to get into it, I suppose, so I'll restrain myself - oops! - and think of other things.

Must try to get my ass out into the field and try to find some nice faces...

My twenty-five? year-old granddaughter's coming to spend some time with me in April I think; she's nice, but as she's family I can't bring myself to bother her with the boredom of getting portraited (feels slightly more interesting than being portrayed - I think). I'm conscious of having pissed my own two kids right off photography with so many studio test shots. My wife escaped: just said no, and meant it.

;-(

Patricia, funny that you should post this as I am looking at my recent shoot of similar subject matter. But your image manages to look raw and painterly at the same time. Nice work.

Indeed. Island living is really good for your photography, Patricia.

Helped my Raynaud digits no end, Patricia!

Now I feel too numb to face the shower. I'll pour another mug of tea instead.

(In the good olds, my wife and I would come back from our trips to Scotland with the trunk filled with French liquid goodies as well as the two types of British-bought teas that she had decided made for the perfect blend. Such niceties long lost, I now depend on lousy little paper sachets of tea dust, the junk that tea planters would once have discarded as a toxic nuisance and waste product, but which now perhaps outsells everything else.)

No, I have to go face another estate agent today, so I better brave the bathroom after all.

Thank you, and thanks to the Romans... it's a theatre they built in Lugdunum, which became Lyon. I was there sight-seeing with friends (as seen in another thread) and had all my gear because I was on my way to shoot some portraits for a project... about which I was worried because of the uncharacteristically intense winter sun :)

Thank you John. Eric indicates it may be the releases of magical center of earth vapors, and I am more and more inclined to agree, as even when the storms buried us here, the snows did all the work of removing the unnecessary for seeing. Amazingly the snows have all but disappeared into thin air over the past three days. The simplification of those deep blankets is tucked under my hat though for thinking forward. Must say Graeme that it is easily more lovely working inside near the fire, than the days of shoveling.

(ps..Rob, try to see the cold as wonderful fresh water cubes in your Lillet on a summer's 90 degree afternoon. Surprisingly the mental take is helpful, and the stressing at firing up increases the event. Let your mind carry you to that lovely crackled glass of Lillet and cubes. Also, for many it does really help to overdress your trunk as it does really aid in the hand and toe digit vessels remaining more open. Hands and feet behave much like that other digit which self protects when jumping in near freezing seas. (It's the self protection of the core so that the operating system has a shot at survival. ) )(enjoying your projects... keep moving!)

OMG! I'd forgotten all about that!

But a tip: no male should be required to ride a bicycle in the cold. Retrieval in some temperatures can be almost impossible, and cause panic that may be conducive to heart attacks in later life. Trust me on that one.

In his book, The Moon's a Ballon, David Niven quoted a great instance of that happening up in an Italian (?) ski resort (probably from skiing, not bicycles, which could be awkward), and the poor victim rushing into the bar in high distress yelling "Cazzo gelato! Cazzo gelato!" I think I remember Niven saying it was resolved by the application of some Scotch. That 'solution' strikes me as sadistic in the extreme. But a reasonable use of the fluid.

With reference to another thread, it could well be an example of God having a laugh at her first stupid production sample.

In fact, it reminds me of the old days when I had an Exakta with those bulky lenses with the semi-automatic aperture stopdowner as an extension at the side, that fitted above the frontal shutter release. (Pressing that lump down also pressed the shutter button.) Clearly, the Laws of Natural Progression led to the better idea of keeping the good bits inside, confirming, as with the cameras, the better design of her second version of the product.

So far - so far - only those cameras and lenses have become obsolete.

Kinda makes sense to me: folks just getting their wankery fodder from different sources.

Patricia, I love both these winter views. Particularly as we've had so little winter in my locale. Two days last week I went out & about with no jacket at all, temps in the 60s F, during the normally "coldest month of the year."
