Thanks, Fracois. In naming it, my mind played with the alternate meanings of radiation.

"Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships lying In the yellow haze of the sun...all in a dream"

Yes Arlen, this reminds me of the Neil Young song quoted above.

JR

Interesting that the image brought that song into your mind, John. It is a classic. You might enjoy this short video, where the song is played and someone has set a series of artworks and photos to the music. I liked it, anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqi0GzA4gjw. Though the subject of my image is quite a bit more prosaic than that.

While waiting for my windshield to be changed, I spotted this...and thought, why not.

A pretty pattern, John, but I think maybe you need to get your windshield cleaned.

On the other hand, leave your windshield as it is. As a filter you can put it to good use (as seen here).  ;D

Thanks for the comments Arlen and Francois. These are cans of some kind of lubricant stacked up like a pyramid. The beauty of ICM, is that with practice, you develop a sense of how some subject matter may appear if a certain technique is used. The first image was an upward movement, but this second example is a side or horizontal movement. Neither image is that great, but it leads to trying ICM on different subjects, however mundane.

So you carry a camera with you even into the windshield repair shop? That's dedication.

Sort of Arlen. If I think I may be waiting for awhile, then I will bring my point and shoot Canon G1X.

Up, down or rest. Can't decide.

Simple and beautiful… In fact, it's so nice that I don't even try to understand what it is!

In that case, I will leave it a mystery. Thank you Francois and Eric for your comments.

This thread seems to be getting no love lately. Time for a contribution.

That is terrific, Arlen!
Minimalist but very elegant.

Oh yes, a beam of light trying to penetrate the cosmos. Maybe we will be able to see something besides the noise.

Thanks, Francois and John.

John, you don't know how close you came to what is behind this image. I came across some accidental shots on my phone, captured as RAW using the LR Mobile app, taken in a very dark room. At first this one seemed black, with a slight white streak from a window ledge. But when I brought the exposure way up, I could see that there was a pattern of colorful background sensor noise. I played with it a while, and finally came up with what you see. It made me think how noise is a manifestation of randomness and entropy, throughout the universe. And how everything is trending relentlessly in that direction, and eventually randomness is all that will remain. The "last" "photon" burning out into the universal noise: maybe that is the final fate.

And honest, no pharmacologic assistance was involved in imagining this scenario.  :)

Make of this what you will. Let's just say I didn't really like what I saw, but did see that it might make a good abstract.

And indeed it did! I'm not sure what you saw that displeased you, but I see nothing not to like in your rendering of it.
