That looks to me like a Frambolius Bandersnatch (not to be confused with the Frumious Bandersnatch.)

Could be! In reality it's a screw-up making a focus stack of a photomicrograph of a stamen--I stacked two sets of images and this was the result.

I tried a little ICM today. I can understand the appeal.

I think that's pretty good, Matt. Two ways to do this. I see this as more abstract. But you can also do semi-abstact images. I like both kinds.

Apropos, once again from Neil Young:

It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old

A straight shot from one of your forest walks, no doubt.

I like it a lot.

This also reminds me of the Damascus steel patterns and lines. Colors add to the exotic look.
A very nice shot!

Thanks Eric and Francois for your comments. I hate to disappoint but I must confess to doing more with this image than meets the eye. I did take both images on the same walk. It's a composite of two images using a technique I learned at a workshop. You can see both images below. I like both images in their own right but wanted to try the technique to see what I could come up with.

I like it a lot, too. But be careful; you are treading into "creative" art territory.  :)

Thanks Arlen and Eric. No more room on my walls. Perhaps I will get one of those monitors that looks like a frame and hang it on the wall 8)

Radiation
"Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships lying In the yellow haze of the sun...all in a dream"

Yes Arlen, this reminds me of the Neil Young song quoted above.
