Hard to believe I was the last one to post here over two years ago. Well, here's another.
Earlier this year we worked with film a production producing two different backings for their sets. For those who don't know, a backing, or backdrop, is a very large format print hung at the perimeter of a sound stage to act as a view through the set windows. Usually they have both front and rear lighting abilities, showcasing both a day and night view depending on how you light them. Of course, we need both versions when we print and usually capture both during the shoot.
For this backing, due to schedules and location logistics, we could only capture the day version and needed to completely generate the night from the day in post. 12 hours later, with 50+ adjustment layers, I think we did a good job!
