My reaction to CPS was related to the earlier remarks he made about my work, being the same boring flat images (and more not aimed at me, see his last posts threads). Normally I would have never reacted that "strong".

about the deeper thoughts in a series, I think alot of people overreact, open the modern fashion magazines and we see ALOT more "evil" things that this.
This is not meant as evil, or putting women down, or whatever bad thing you think about it.

The original idea behind is was that fashion is often too much contained in boxes.
Like this picture is fashion, this picture is beauty, this is..... etc.
I have had many discussions with people who want to label my or other work in a certain box while in my opinion it's too wide to just fit into one box.
Same can be said for fashion design in general maybe, in other words think outside the box inside of being limited inside the box.

So no hidden let's put a women in a box stuff.
I thought that was clear when you post on a forum with mainly pros ??
But I guess there will always be people that rather think bad about someone than correct.

i‚m sorry mr. Doorhof i still can‘t see a  high technical level in you work  nor a great creativity. All i see are uninspired, unstylish images turned to little ads for the tools you seem so proud of. i furthermore think the true reason why you post so many of the same all over on the web is to draw attention for your workshops. so you should be able to take  some criticism too.

Your naive arguments and that you seem unable to read the clear massage of your  work reveals a GWC not a great photographer. Sure there is more evil work out there and almost all is  build around strange male phantasies but the  important point is:  the roll of the victim  is always dedicated to a women as in the real world. You know that many  eastern european girls are kept as sex slaves not only in the netherlands, under conditions not far from your imagination so fantasy and reality can not be separated as you would like to . Abuse and slavery are serious problems in europe,  images like yours are more than unnecessary.

Male fantasies indeed!

Female fashion photograhy is controlled by women, homosexuals or straight people with business at the fore of their minds.

The target market is other women.

There is no further basis for argument.

Guy I worked with owned a software company, manufacturing, mostly chemicals such as paints.  He sometimes had a photo of his golden retriever in an ad.  When the software got distro'd to SE Asia, he got some major complaints.  Why?  Some customers were offended by the "flaunting of wealth" that such a beautiful dog connoted.  BTW, the only bad thing about art is bad art. -Dale Thorn.  Also by D.Thorn - "If it's not worth doing to excess, it's not worth taking out of the wrapper."

Maybe you lay down on a couch and ask the man with the notepad, why you saw literal slavery and abuse in those images?
My first thoughts about what statement the images were making were in the line of the woman
trying to escape the cage like pressures, routines, limitations that most people face every day.
A bit like this cheesy illlustration from the getty website... but better!

So maybe analise you own mind before you start abusing the possible intentions of others.

I would just like to say that I so much enjoy your work that you have posted on this forum.  Your use of light in photography is truly amazing.  You always seem to surprise me with new "looks" to your images.  A review of your portfolio shows the inspiring breadth of your work.  I have reviewed many works of other photographers on this forum and you are certainly one of the best.  I also truly appreciate all the time you take out of your busy schedule to answer questions and post reviews of new cameras such as the Leaf Afi 7.  You are truly a gifted and prolific artist.  As always, I look forward to your next post.

Would you believe #3 was lit with a $6 flashlight.... 30 sec exposure with a hand held flashlight moving around... painting with light I guess..... fun. I have a whole book of these image I shot at an old arcade game room.

I know there's no money in stuff like this... but I just adore cropping in on the past all beat up and abused.

next project I'm going to do is photograph the few hundred old cameras I have laying around.... There are a few italian 35's that have the coolest art deco thing going on.
