I'm thinking it is a nicely done scale model considering the rear tire is not sitting totally on the floor.
But I've been wrong so so many times in my life.

The rear wheel is indeed a dead give-away. I'll fix that in photoshop asap :-)

I used 2 big softboxes, one on top shining down at 30 degrees. Another one to the right, to get the reflection on the side.

I used a Elinchrome repro-table, with a light directed towards the lens, to soften the gradient.

Mike, Nice shot!  What do you use for the floor surface?  I've tried a number of products from plexiglas to vinyl flooring, epoxy paint etc.  All exhibit a tremendous amount of distortion, the only other method I'm familiar with is a reflecting pond which is quite time consuming.  Do you mind sharing your method?  Thanks, Jim

As stated in my previous post; my Jaguar is a scale-model. I used plexiglass.
I'm kinda sure that only a pond can really give the most shiny surface with the least amount of flash. Making a pond isn't that time-consuming, it's the cleaning part that's a pain. :-)

You've tried a plexiglass bottom? Not the result you were hoping for?

I've taken a look at your site, beautiful work! You really know how to upgrade the objects to living things. I especially love those curved light-details you do. It makes the image that much more graphic.

Ahh! I knew there was something about it.  

I missed the rear wheel, but the size of the gap between the front wing panel & the door struck me as odd when I looked at it yesterday. Didn't think anything more of it though.

The one on the right is a 1ds2 with the 135L. I had rented an Aptus 22 but my mam afd was not communicating with the back, so I shot the job with the 1ds2. The one on the left is a 5d with the 24~70.  I now shoot with a P30+ on a mam afd.

Removed the non MF images per the OP's request - but don't know why it matters as long as we also post some MFDB images too which I have done. I'll bet nearly every MF shooter here also shoots with another camera, and I have enjoyed seeing the comparison such as James M8 images vs his phase/contax images.

Not trying to be a party-pooper but do you think we could keep this thread MFDB only (in keeping with the title)? This is the only thread I know of for MFDB images but there are a thousand Canon forums where people can go if Canon images is what they want to post/see.
