Thanks. I'll probably end up getting a P25+ at some point just for the added ISO, thus higher shutter speeds. I keep trying to cheat the laws of physics and shoot handheld with stupidly low shutter speeds. I know it won't work, but just maybe, just maybe this time...!

Oddly enough I was asked this question quite recently by a potential client looking at my folio. He said 'Have you won any awards?' He's a PR chap and has won awards himself and reckoned I should enter competitions. He also gave me work BTW!

I might be able to help you get more out your present camera with one of my custom profiles. I've substantially improved what I wring out of my P45+ which I'm now shooting exclusively in lighting where I can hardly see.

From one of those assignments where a mistake ends up as the final pick (here, a lab scan at the wrong resolution conveyed a desired tension that the correctly-scanned make-good lacked):

But (and a big butt) ... back then it was not a competition, like it has become now. Photographers were *selected* as Hasselblad Masters.

Quite different i would say.

Mamiya 645 afdII, P30+, 105-210mm @ 210mm, f/32, 2 second exposure, 100 iso. Used a Singh-Ray blue and gold polarizer for the color. Fog and light rain making everything flat and gray.
This was at Bridal Veil Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, last Sunday morning.

RE: contests - just another reason to contact clients and potential clients to let them know what you've been up to and the accolades you have earned!

AND as JP said - tons of exposure for a very nominal entry fee if you are honored...
