Lots of really good work here. But there's a suspicious lack of cats. A dog or two, sure, but not enough housecats to really compare these with other photographic tools.
[{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

That was exactly my thought as well. With all this photos here there is very little cats as compared to   Photo.net.  Maybe because we are not rating yet? or maybe because here you have to claim here that you are a pro?

I had been thinking just the same thing. I have enjoyed the dog pictures (and lots of the others), but wondered about the lack of cats. So as soon as Misirlou mentions it, two posters oblige. Very nice! LL folks can be very responsive.

Not recent, but a cat.

Mike.

P.S.  Thanks to everyone for sharing their work!

JP, when do you shoot these night shots? Early evening or morning? How long do you expose on these (more or less)?

These were at about 2:00 a.m.  Exposures ranging from 2 to 8 minutes.

645AFD II with P20+
210mm f/4

1/2sec @ f/28

I did something a bit strange for this.  I set the camera inside the min focusing distance for the lens and kept dialing the aperture down until the front lantern was in focus (the blur is motion blur from wind and the 1/2 sec exposure).  Fun to play around sometimes, and I like the way this came out.  The B/W conversion is the PhaseOne Panchromatic B/W colorspace in Capture One.

JP,

The vertical is excellent.  I love the Juxtaposition of the cool ice with the warm lights on the building.
