I'm much more concerned with wannabe dictators and Christian Nationalists who have plainly spoken of and demonstrated their disregard for our democracy and the will of the people than imaginary commies attributed to some vague misquote, if it even happened.

Thank you for again confirming to your readers your strong opinion on a topic you’ve clearly illustrated you know nothing about and no experience with.
Really? How so? Can you be more specific than regurgitating vague accusations?

Sure, virtually no one (actually anyone) here takes you seriously. That you don’t get that speaks volumes.

I Feel Compelled to Point Out That Donald Trump Sounds Absolutely Insane
Enter: The Venezuelan takeover...of the real estate market...in the Denver suburbs...
The former president* of the United States, who also is the current Republican nominee for president, got up on stage in North Carolina on Wednesday and said something insane. I just thought I'd take note of that. He said:

We wouldn't have hostile takeovers of Springfield, Ohio, Aurora, Colorado, where they are actually going in with massive machine gun-type equipment. They are going in with guns that are beyond even military scope, and they are taking over apartment buildings. They're taking over real estate. They're in the real estate development business. Congratulations. These are in that case people from Venezuela, young street-gang members that were sent here by the government of Venezuela.

(Note On Context: I don't know what "guns that are beyond even military scope" are. Jewish space lasers? Sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads. I guess if you're making up the Venezuelan takeover of the real estate market in the Denver suburbs, you can make up the weaponry, too.)

Come on, people. Honest to god.

Trump Is So Mad About His Bad Press That He's Unleashed a New Threat
Donald Trump is escalating his prosecution threats over negative press coverage.
On Friday afternoon, Donald Trump called for the prosecution of Google for displaying negative stories about him. The remarks are characteristic of the Republican nominee, who often vows retribution and elevates baseless claims of bias, but chilling nonetheless.
“It has been determined,” the Republican nominee posted on Truth Social, “that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris.
“This is an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY,” he said, adding that, if the Justice Department does not “criminally prosecute” Google for election interference, he will “request their prosecution, at the maximum levels” if elected president.
The source of Trump’s claim appears to be the right-wing Media Research Center, which published a report on Wednesday covered this week by Fox News and The New York Post.
MRC’s report “analyzed the Sept. 6 Google search results” for the terms “donald trump presidential race 2024” and “kamala harris presidential race 2024.” The group alleges that the results favored outlets with “a history of leftist bias,” and that, while Trump’s campaign website appeared sixth in his search results, Harris’s campaign website appeared third in hers.
Dismissing MRC’s report, a Google spokesperson told Fox, “Both campaign websites consistently appear at the top of Search for relevant and common search queries. This report looked at a single rare search term on a single day several weeks ago, and even for that search, both candidates’ websites ranked in the top results on Google.”
Trump’s Truth Social post recalls his previous claims that Google search results are biased against him, which Google has denied.
It is also yet another example of Trump promising to prosecute his perceived political foes if he retakes the White House. Earlier this month, for example, Trump posted to Truth Social that, if he wins, “those people that CHEATED”—such as “Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials”—“will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences.”

This can be seen as a way to promote his private interests. If he can crush other news sites, then his own may be advantaged. History has shown that free market competition doesn't do him any good, better to prosecute the opposition.

It's a bit like appointing that DeVos lady to Sec of Education, when one of her family business is private schooling. The fox and henhouse metaphor come to mind.

Has anyone else noticed that after hurricanes hit Florida and other places, Trump never shows up there to toss rolls of paper towels to people at press conferences? I'll repeat what I said at the time. Although that action in Puerto Rico appeared repulsive on the face of it, the possibility remains that it gained him more votes than he lost. It could very well be that cruelly mistreating non-white people is a vote getter for him among his base.

Some mental illnesses may be infectious. One of the policies of the new provincial government in Alberta is to eliminate automated vote-counting equipment in favour of manual counting. I have never heard a hint of a possibility of any Canadian election at any level being rigged, so this act can only be seen as a MAGA-lite copy-cat. It is pretty lame. A bit stupid, really. But the new premier out there is a known anti-vaxxer too, or pretends to be, I don't know which. So I don't expect much there.

Trump "Chickens" Out:

That would be the twice impeached, convicted felon, racist, antisemite, serial liar, misogynist, multiple bankrupted, sexual assaulter, wife cheating with a porn star, and insurrectionary ex-president.

As the commentator states, Trump's behaviour here with Zelensky is truly sickening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QY769rbeKE.

One of the mysteries of US politics to me is this bizarre MAGA friendliness with Putin. When I first heard about it, I thought someone was putting me on. It's difficult not to assume the most cynical interpretation, that these guys truly believe that the purpose of political office is only to benefit themselves, something for which Putin is the poster child. I get it that selfishness is always present, I'm not naive enough to think that political desires begin and end with public service, but shouldn't that at least be the aspiration? With Trump I don't think it's even a consideration and what is confusing is why his supposed ultra-patriotic supporters think that's a good thing. If people truly believe that, that there is no public service, who would ever join the armed forces or law enforcement? For what would you be risking your life, exactly.

If you had paid attention, instead of assuming, you would know that not just some Dem, but Kamala Harris, has spouted the basterdized version of Karl Marx's quote "What can be, unburdened by what has been" on numerous occasions in public. Just get your head out of the sand!

So what? The phrase simply means we can move forward and change things for the better. If Reagan had said the exact same thing, you would be singing a different tune.

And he has no issues with Trump’s echoes of fascist rhetoric of course (the hypocrisy):

Trump just can’t stop lying:

Former President Donald Trump is wildly distorting new statistics on immigration and crime to attack Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump falsely claimed Friday and Saturday that the statistics are specifically about criminal offenders who entered the US during the Biden-Harris administration; in reality, the figures are about offenders who entered the US over multiple decades, including during the Trump administration. And Trump falsely claimed that the statistics are specifically about people who are now living freely in the US; the figures actually include people who are currently in jails and prisons serving criminal sentences.

“Kamala should immediately cancel her News Conference because it was just revealed that 13,000 convicted murderers entered our Country during her three and a half year period as Border Czar,” Trump wrote in one post on Friday, the day Harris visited the southern border in Arizona. Harris “allowed almost 14,000 MURDERERS to freely and openly roam our Country,” Trump wrote in another Friday post. They “roam free to KILL AGAIN,” he wrote, escalating his rhetoric, on Saturday.

Facts First: Trump’s claims are false in two big ways. First, the statistics he was referring to are not specifically about people who entered the country during the Biden-Harris administration. Rather, those statistics are about noncitizens who entered the country under any administration, including Trump’s; were convicted of a crime at some point, usually in the US after their arrival; and are now living in the US while being listed on Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “non-detained docket” — where some have been listed for years, including while Trump was president, because their country of citizenship won’t let the US deport them back there. Second, that ICE “non-detained” list includes people who are still serving jail and prison sentences for their crimes; they are on the list because they are not being held in immigration detention in particular.

Interesting point that is related to the GOP and Orange Oaf flooding the airwaves about how a flood of fentanyl is being brought to the US by illegal migrants. The truth, it seems, as reported by multiple news outlets, is that almost all fentanyl is brought in by American citizens, many native-born, who are hired by the cartels.

Speaking in Wisconsin on Saturday, Trump claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris has an app that allows a “virtually unlimited” number of migrants to enter the country.
“They have a phone app so that people can come into our country,” Trump said over the weekend. “These are smart immigrants, I guess because most people don’t have any idea what the hell a phone app is. But they do, these are very intelligent immigrants.”

That'd be one hell of an app though. If he feels that strongly about it he should ask his supporters to cough up some cash to pay hackers to jam it.
