(Semi-related, I did a 50+ mile drive behind the wheel of a Model Y yesterday.  Great car)

I similarly drove a Model 3 a year or so ago.  Absolutely gobsmacking.
Once people realize how much FUN these things are, they'll sell like... well, you know.

While slavery was a shameful economic system, the greatest growth for America occurred after slavery ended 160 years ago.  Of course, you can also blame the expansion into the west and the taking of territory from the Indians and Mexicans.  But other nations in South and Central America had similar expansions of European peoples.  Yet due to their political and economic systems, many remain in the backwater.  Venezuela and Cuba are examples.  Many South American countries have had military coups. Even huge Brazil and Argentina have come up short for these reasons.  If America discards its constitution and economic foundations, it could wind up with similar problems.

Deciduous behaviour is a shameful system.  Yes, but many trees lose their leaves in autumn.  Elms and maples are examples.  Many foods have had similar temperatures, but ice cream is cold.  Of course you could blame the atoms.  Atoms are very, very small.

If they keep getting smaller, they could wind up with similar problems.

(I'm trying to decide which is funnier, your post or the one in which John Camp asked which of the Trump sons was the dumb one.)

Pretty soon we're going to confuse Biden with Trump.

President Joe Biden's approval rating hits new low in latest Quinnipiac poll
Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 38%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. That’s down from 42% three weeks ago and from a high of 50% in mid-February.

“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a prepared statement.

We are?
Some writers here have confirmed their confusions over hundreds of pages in this thread. There is little confusion about their confusion(s). Like their confusion here in the past about so called "paying people not to work".

Unemployment benefits ended, but hiring did not surge in September
The latest report undercuts the argument made by many Republicans and business owners that the nation's economic recovery was being slowed by a federal safety net they deemed too generous.
Governors in 26 states -- all but one Republican -- opted to terminate at least one of the three pandemic unemployment programs in June or July, saying it would help solve staffing shortfalls. (Courts in two states later required officials to continue the benefits through early September.)
However, after they did so, employment did not grow substantially faster in those states, previous studies and government data have found.

Yeah, that confused guy was wrong again.  ;)

And lets not forget that this is even with the media doing heavy lifting in trying to convince us Old Slow Joe really is a great leader.  LOL

My prediction, Youngkin will win VA this month, but even if it is a close loss, causing the remaining steam in the Build Back Better bill to dissipate and we will see a continued slide in his polling.  I'm betting he could get down into the 20s at this point.

Comparing the two doesn't say much.  The press always gave Trump a "bad press" regardless of what he did and how successful his policy may be.  For five years, the press lampooned him regarding the wall and immigration.  Yet it's Biden who's screwed up what was set up by Trumnp to be an effective way to reduce illegal immigration substantially.   Ditto Afghanistan.  While Trump defeated ISIS, Biden has allowed ISIS to use Afghanistan to run amok. He also allowed Al Quaeda the perpetrators of 9-11 to co-lead that country with the Taliban.  Trump expanded oil to make America self-sufficient.  Biden, because of his dampening oil exploration and pumping, has had to go to the Arabs and beg them to increase oil production.   Meanwhile oil is $80 a barrel and going higher.  He's ticked off the Canadians when he shut down the XL pipeline and the French with the Australian nuclear submarine deal.  Inflation is getting out of control and Covid still restricts the economy.

Even though the press still protects Biden, the people have been wising up.  That's why his polls have tanked. No one's buying the comparison to Trump.  That dog won't hunt.

He has not "ticked off the Canadians".  He did tick off a few ecologically isolated, sunset-industry Albertans.

By "sunset industry Albertans", I'm referring to those invested in fossil fuels and beef.

Last I heard, Albertans are Canadians.  So is PM Trudeau.  He wasn't happy either.

While Trump defeated ISIS

Great!

Biden has allowed ISIS to use Afghanistan to run amok.

Wait—I thought you said that "Trump defeated ISIS".

The press always... For five years, the press..

Even though the press...

The press. The government. The fill in the blank.

The narrower the mind, the broader the statement. — Ted Cook

Wait—I thought you said that "Trump defeated ISIS".
Trump defeated the ISIS caliphate that had captured huge tracts of Syria and Iraq eliminating their control of those areas.  Sure there are some ISIS remnants.  But they didn't have Afghanistan to regroup and run amok, nor did Al Qaeda, until Biden.

What you seem to be blissfully unaware of, is that extremists move from one area to another. If one neighborhood becomes less suitable for their activities, they move to another. Of course, they keep their covert activities under the radar as much as possible, so as not to bring unwanted attention. They also tend to operate toward a common purpose under a variety of names and leadership and in many places.

Anti-Western extremists, terrorists, and zealots have been around for decades under a variety of names in a variety of places. There were several in Afghanistan before the invasion 20-years ago. Many simply migrated to other places like Pakistan, the mountain border regions, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, etc. They've never been defeated—not by Russia, the U.S., Bush, Obama, Trump, or anyone else—because it's an extremist ideology that is the root which binds the branches of terrorist groups and not a group's name, leader, or place that unites them in their efforts. Push them out of one place and thy show up in another. Their ideology has no boundaries.

Did the Taliban or their predecessors leave Afghanistan or simply harass, hit and run with attacks, and wait out first the Soviet and then U.S. forces thru attrition? Did Al-Qaeda ever go away or did they just change names, leaders, affiliations, and locations?

When Trump destroyed the ISIS caliphate,  terrorist attacks in the west diminished greatly.  Allowing them or other groups to have Afghanistan as a base of operations as they had for 9-11 makes them more dangerous.  Biden's idea of attacking them "from over the horizon" is nonsense.  Our drone killing of an innocent family is an example of how well that works when you don;t have better intelligence on the ground.

Americans see Biden's incompetence and lies.  Even the press can't fool them any longer.

Drones have effectively killed terrorists in many countries protecting people around the world. .   Having intelligence on the ground makes them more effective and less prone to error.  After that incident, which president or commander is going to order a drone strike from over the horizon and take the chance of wiping out another innocent family?  With no intelligence on thre ground, Afghanistan wil be open territory for terrorists to operate with impunity.

I'm betting that you know very little about polling at this point.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/biden-approval-rating/

No, but it seems though that you know very little about aggregated polling.

The graphs you posted is the averaged polling of the most recent poll of each individual poll, for Biden.  Whereas the graph for Trump, and Obama, has been interpolated already since we know what all of his numbers are.  Quinnipiac's poll is the most recent update.  So, that average is relying on just one recent update and the rest outdated by a couple of weeks, at best.

Now perhaps Quinnipiac is an outlier and Biden is actually doing better then Trump, but we will not know until the others perform new polls.  However, if you extrapolate the data on Biden, it is not looking so great.

There is your basic middle school math lesson of the day.  I will be testing you on it next week.   ;)
