Well, people like me have been called racist for wanting voter ID laws which have been associated with Jim Crow laws.  You're calling that racism.  The fact is you don't feel black people are capable of getting ID's so they can vote, that they're too ignorant and not smart like white people.  You're the one putting down minorities, not me.  I think they're very capable and should be treated like adults which they are while you would treat them like children. That's racist and very demeaning.

You must know better than this.

Slander someone with false allegations of racist statements; call them a coward; then act like you're the victim. How do you justify that to yourself?

That's a pretty lame attempt at RADICAL MUSLIM TERRORISM(tm) if that's what you're getting at.

The Reuters article didn't mention the race or ethnical background of the attacker. Below is the definition of the term terrorism which seems quite rational and would apply to the aforementioned attack.

Quote
Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives”.

Yeah. I'm not at all interested in your opinion of me or your assigning opinions to me. Ever. And for good reason.

This isn't debate, discussion, or argument. This is just you shoving opinions and words into peoples mouths. You can shove it back where it belongs.
Now you know how I feel when I'm called racist for my political beliefs.  It's not my side that's always playing the race card.

I explained to you specifically why this isn't the case.
I don't recall what you said.  So specifically, why aren't black people capable of showing ID's for voting but white people are? Why are voting rules racist Jim Crow laws?

Haven't you figured out that in American media, the race of the felon is often left out of the news report, or downplayed when a black is the perpetrator.  In this case, the perpetrator wasn't only black, but he identified with the Nation of Islam, Farrakhan's hateful anti-Jewish and anti-White black Muslim group.  When there are white-on-black attacks, then race is highlighted and the discussion moves on to how prevalent racism is and everyone starts marching in the streets.

This is why people don't trust the media and politicians.  They're the ones who stir up fights about these things separating people into groups for political power.  That's the race card.  That's identity politics.  It's very destructive.

That's exactly what you're doing when you call Georgians racist for wanting more secure voting to prevent election fraud.  Their laws are basically the same as they are here in the Yankee north of New Jersey and New York. Why are you calling them Jim Crow laws?  You're calling them racist.

Biden lied.

Biden admits tax hike could hit people earning $200K
Biden for weeks has said that his proposed hike on the highest income tax bracket would not hit any person who earns less than $400,000.

But his updated phrasing confirms press secretary Jen Psaki’s recent acknowledgment that a two-partner family would be impacted if combined income crosses $400,000.

Apologies - I misunderstood what you were getting at.  From what I’m reading he seems to have had serious mental issues (possibly as a result of CTE, but that pure conjecture on my part).  Anyway, point being I’m not sure it’s correct to call it “PC” washing when it’s far from conclusive that there’s anything other than delusional behavior involved (not that it really matters much, I guess?)

From 5 pages ago:

It's not that "black people" can't/won't/don't know how to get IDs.

It's that there are systemic barriers like

*access to DMVs
*higher proportions of shift workers that can't go during state business hours
*hourly workers on the edge of poverty that can't take half a day off to go to the DMV
*documentation requirements etc.

that disproportionately impact black people (and other minorities) because they are overrepresented in economically disadvantaged communities.

I will give you this... I believe in many cases Republicans that are advancing these stupidly restrictive voting laws aren't doing so in order to harm "black people" per se.  Rather, they're doing it simply to suppress *Democratic* voters - it's just that a large proportion of the people that they are trying to disenfranchise happen to be non-white.   "Oops," I guess?

Now did I REALLY need to explain that to you?

If you need more explanation, this WaPo article from 2016 gets right down to it.

Quote
Longtime Republican consultant Carter Wrenn, a fixture in North Carolina politics, said the GOP’s voter fraud argument is nothing more than an excuse.

“Of course it’s political. Why else would you do it?” he said, explaining that Republicans, like any political party, want to protect their majority. While GOP lawmakers might have passed the law to suppress some voters, Wrenn said, that does not mean it was racist.

“Look, if African Americans voted overwhelmingly Republican, they would have kept early voting right where it was,” Wrenn said. “It wasn’t about discriminating against African Americans. They just ended up in the middle of it because they vote Democrat.”

The problem is if the situation was reversed, and the perpetrator was white, there would be cries of racism as we saw with the massacre of Asians at the message parlor by a white guy.  That guy was acting out of sick sexual and religious fantasies and hatred, not race.  The victims could have been white and he would have still done his murdering.

But the press and the usual race baiters made it seem like it was an anti-Asian attack.  Even the perpetrator said it was his issues with sex and religiosity as the reasons he did it, not race, and that was confirmed by authorities.  But that wouldn't play the way the race-baiters wanted.  So they made it into an anti-Asian race issue for political reasons, again dividing us up into groups for identity politics.

As always, white guys are the real victims today.  It is, indeed, so hard to be white.

Democrats have in the past played games with ballots and elections.  Now they are demanding in HR1 a new congressional law to let practically anyone place a vote without any identification at all, including mail-in ballots.  It's a Democratic attempt to stuff ballot boxes.  As I have posted earlier, these fraudulent practices go on all the time.  Ballots are harvested and illegally signed and submitted after democratic candidates are checked off.  Republicans are concerned that this practice will get worse especially as more and more voting by mail happens.

Having reasonable rules to protect against this is in law in all the states I checked.  The argument that it's racist and Jim Crow laws in Georgia is just the usual race card Democrats always pull when they want to get their way politically.  Then threaten commercial organization like Coca Cola to punish people.  To argue that a poor person, white or black, cannot find the time to get a photo ID from the government is just silly.  They only have to do that once in their lives.  Meanwhile, how many people don't have IDs now?  How do they travel?  How do they get into buildings where there's security. (Every office and government building in NYC for example).  How do they apply for welfare and food stamps? How many don't drive? (You don't need to drive to get an ID).

The point is it has nothing to do with these things in any case. It's all about giving Democrats a free hand to cheat.  There's a lot of worry about cheating in elections.  People don't trust the process. Voters should feel comfortable that their votes count and there's no cheating going on.  Reasonable rules are the way to do it.  These rules are no more onerous in Georgia than the ones we have here in Yankee northern states where I've lived in Democratically controlled NJ and NY.

Whites aren't playing the race card.  They only complain about laws that discriminate against whites and men based on race and gender like government contracts that can only go to minorities and women.  That kind of discrimination perpetuates conflict on both sides.  We have to stop those kinds of laws.  We have to stop pointing to everything that happens as caused by race and to use identity politics to gain power and economic advantage. That's destructive to America and to goodwill among us all.  It's time to move on.

And what's wrong with stuffing ballot boxes with votes of those that are entitled to vote?

Please, tell me what's wrong with getting as many people to vote as are entitled to?

Is there something wrong with lowering the barriers and making it easier for people to vote?

If fraud was so easy and so rampant, why is it only being addressed in the 45th presidency and not before? That doesn't make sense to me. What does make sense is a group of politicians have become obsessed with power and have forgotten the true purpose of democracy.

This is fake news.

Republicans are concerned that if enough people voted they'd be removed from power across most of the country. Therefore Republicans are changing to rules to favor themselves, like they do with gerrymandering.

Any true Republican is behind The Lincoln Project. If you call yourself a Republican and you're not 100% behind The Lincoln Project then you're not a Republican, you're a Trumpist. And if you're a Trumpist then you really should be talking to your nearest Moscow embassy/consulate about emigrating to Moscow to live under a proper authoritarian government because that's what the Trumpist party is about.

Right.  We should make it harder for Democrats to vote because Republicans are ignorant and paranoid.  Got it.

But Alan, you do have a point.  How DOES someone who takes the bus an hour each day from their apartment in Macon, GA to earn $8.57 an hour at WALMART in Bumf**k, GA travel to London, or get in to see their portfolio manager in Manhattan?   It's a real conundrum.   Right up there with how the hell they'll pay rent this month if they lose $87.50 because they missed a day of work because Republicans know it makes them choose between voting and eating.

WTF is wrong with you?

WTF is wrong with you?

He's bored and has nothing else to do with his life other than troll people on forums on this website. That much is obvious.

More likely he's been Republican for as long as he can remember and cannot publicly accept that they can be in the wrong on matters like this.

We should probably feel sorry for him that he's been brainwashed so effectively.
