All you clamoring about doing the right thing have convinced Republicans of the efficacy of the vaccines. So much so, they're cheating to get their shots.
After election loss and the 'big lie', sounds like something they would cheat at.

Look at the bright side.  All you clamoring about doing the right thing have convinced Republicans of the efficacy of the vaccines.  So much so, they're cheating to get their shots.

Apparently not. In a recent poll, only 56% of Republicans plan to get the vaccine. I do not understand the hesitancy.

Lots of people lie in polls.

I wonder if it evens out? Half the people lie and say they are going to get it; half the people lie and say they aren't going to get it?

Tangentially related was a headline on a Canadian satire site from a few weeks ago. I can't locate it now but it said something like, "Man who claimed that the pandemic was fake news now angry that vaccine distribution is delayed."

Isn't it astonishing that this is even being discussed?

You were the one who said QAnon operates a pedophile sex ring, not me.

You are mistaken.

Even if you're saying that with tongue in cheek, it's despicable.

"Idaho legislation would allow hunters to shoot them from motorized parachutes, ATVs or snowmobiles year-round with no limits in most areas."

There are a lot of things I don't understand. Here's another: why do people hunt? What is the thrill they get from shooting a wolf with a high powered rifle from a motorized parachute. Isn't flying a motorized parachute thrill enough? I am not sure it is worse than Don Jr. shooting an elephant with a high powered rifle from a jeep so he can cut off the elephant's tail, but it is up there. There ought to be a rule that you can only hunt with a stone implement. Otherwise, it is just target practice. Target practice on live animals? That sounds manly.

"In a 2012 interview with a Forbes contributor, Donald Jr. reportedly told him that it was African tradition to cut off an elephant's tail and use its hair to make bracelets, and that it is seen as a sign of respect for the animal."

Shoot an elephant so you can make bracelets out of its tail as a sign of respect for the animal? How about not shooting an elephant with a high powered rifle as a sign of respect for the animal?

Well if viruses can be politicized, then it's only fair that wolves be too I guess.

Might be part of a longer term strategy. Development of natural resources is sometimes thwarted by the existence of natural habitat of some species. If you kill them all, then they won't stand in the way anymore.

It's such an odd thing that environmental sustainability should be part of a temporary idiosyncratic culture war. Meanwhile in Texas, I saw that people are having mask burning parties, as if that too is part of some culture war and not a viral barrier.

Historians are going to have lots to write about.

it may be considered "pest" control since in ranching country they are regarded as a threat to livestock.
Never mind that the natural systems function well when a top predator is doing well. Since humans learned to control their environment, we have become the top predator without a balancing force from the ecosystem. Ultimately, it may adapt well enough and still support humans, but it is a roll of the dice.

The logic might be something like this. Leftie libtards aren't fans of hunting, therefore I have to kill more just to show 'em.

The 'logic' isn't science based as expected from that side of the political spectrum, just like Covid-19. Did you read this:
Quote
“It’s not a scientific approach to wildlife management. It’s management based on vengeance,” said Dan Vermillion, former chairman of Montana’s fish and wildlife commission. Vermillion and others said wolves were being used to stoke political outrage in the same way Second Amendment gun rights were used in recent elections to raise fears Democrats would restrict firearms.
