Alan is not on the left and he is staying locked up in his hidey-hole.  Trump carried my state by double digits, so most of the people I see out and about are probably on the right, yet the overwhelming number of them are wearing masks. Maybe for individuals, rather than politicians, it is not a left/right issue?

On that I agree.

True, but Alan is not forcing others to stay locked up to.  It is his choice, which I have nothing against, and he is not forcing it on me.  I guess I should clarified that.  But insisting others give into your fears, and then accosting them when they tell you that they have a higher risk tolerance is just not right.  Plus, as always, when government starts making orders, they quickly escalate into being both tyrannical and absurd.  Such is the case with eating out and wearing a mask while walking to your seat.  Of course, when you are seated, you can take it off, talk loudly, aerosol your saliva, all makes sense.

But anyway, it came out from NY this week that the vast majority of new cases are coming from family interactions (74% I think).  It was just 1.4% and less than 1% came from dining out and gyms, respectively.  I do not feel those are high enough numbers to take away people's liberties and freedom of choice.

I should note that I live a pretty boring life, as most people I would assume.  I am not out partying like it is 1999 everyday; I have more important things to do then go to protests, or riots.  However, I am not going to stop working, or traveling for work, which I need to do since those damn buildings never seem to want to come to me.  I also am not going get out of shape and will continue to go to the gym.

My driver is at the shop getting fitted with a 48" shaft. Thankfully, I have a 17 degree 3 iron and can hit it 250 yards.

Nice.  Unfortunately the lowest loft iron in my set was 18 degrees, and to be honest, it is probably my least used iron too, until yesterday.  Maybe I need to find a longer course to play at regularly.

With that said, I would love to try out Daly's 0 iron, I think with 9 degrees of loft.

Alan cited the same statistic. Funny how that works. The coronavirus is not spontaneously appearing in people's homes. People go out and catch it and bring it home and infect their loved ones. Seems to me that people should be more careful when they are out and about. Maybe avoid people not wearing masks. Maybe not go to the gym. Maybe not go to restaurants. Maybe think about others.

You should go ahead and move to Texas. They have a more relaxed attitude about the virus, and they don't have an income tax. The only caveat is that there is some talk of secession. If they do secede, they will probably have to adopt an income tax. Oh, and Texas has some really top-notch healthcare facilities, so in case you do get infected, you'll receive excellent medical care.

Have you considered that many may be laughing at you?
I have. Unlike others, I attempt to consider many things but without making broad evidence and fact free assumptions and that's a big difference between us. I can be a very funny fellow so yes, I do believe I can make people laugh with me. Unlike some here.
If you find it hard to laugh at yourself, I would be happy to do it for you.” Groucho Marx
I'm not trying to mimic Baby Trump either. But the paper trail of posts illustrate who has.

It is almost as if you didn't realize that I was trying, apparently in vain, to be humorous. I have no idea what the loft of my 3 iron is. Never really thought about it. It is a little like photography; I am not really an equipment guy.

Speaking of golf, I hear our local course has just been groomed for XC skiing. I often like a wilder experience skiing but the location is pretty convenient so I'll probably ski there at some point when I don't have a lot of time but still want to get out for some kick and glide.
This is as close as I ever come to actually playing golf. :)

Interesting to know how those estimates are made.  Here in the UK the govt had a scheme to encourage people to eat out. Now it seems that this was associated with a spike in infections.

Yes, but please do actually wait until I'm playing golf, don't just shoot me because you thought I might be one day going to play golf, or because I was playing the piano, or some other excuse.

How about wearing golf clothes? I'll probably need to go gun shopping first.

I am having the hardest time imaging myself walking out of the house in an outfit like that. Maybe if I just left it in my locker at the club, and no one saw me wearing it except my three other idiot friends. Nope, still not seeing it.

You dont know the lofts on all of your irons?  Come on now, get on that!

BTW, modern 3's are usually lofted at either 17 or 18, so you picked a number that made you sound serious.

The late great Bruce Fraser (from Edinburgh) used to tell a hilarious tale of how Golf was invented and I can't do it justice. In a nutshell, a village in Edinburgh noticed that having the village idiot use a stick to strike a ball into a hole keep this idiot happily occupied for hours on end. Soon word traveled to other villages and they adopted this for their village idiots after which, they would gather for each village idiot to play against each other in a tournament. And Golf was thus invented. Coming from Bruce, with his amazing wit and accent was a great blessing, I miss him so.

Never saw it, but Robin Williams has a great take on golf too.

I know the loft of my wedges.  If I memorized the loft of all my other clubs, they would still go the same distances as before.

BTW, modern 3's are usually lofted at either 17 or 18, so you picked a number that made you sound serious.

I just picked a loft one degree lower and a distance ten yards further than yours.

The Wisconsin Supreme court just yesterday said votes were likely case [cast] illegally.

No. The Supreme Court of Wisconsin did not say that "votes were likely [cast] illegally". It issued a final declaration clarifying conflicting interpretations of statutory language as it related to an "erroneous" interpretation by a county that was corrected in March, at the beginning of pandemic restrictions, with a preliminary injunction from the Court prior to their April 7, 2020 primary election. That preliminary injunction remained in effect and no votes were effected in the November 3rd presidential election by the earlier "erroneous" county interpretation of the statutory language back in March.

The case revolved around a county's interpretation, in March when the first pandemic restrictions were ordered, of the phrase "indefinitely confined" as used in multiple Wisconsin election statutes, sections, and subsections. The December 14th declaration by the Wisconsin Supreme Court simply made final their interpretation of "indefinitely confined" as it was defined in their March preliminary injunction. The Court did what courts often do; it took statutory language in one statute that could be interpreted differently from the identical language in another statute and clarified the definition, interpretation, and application across all of the statues and their sections and subsections. The purpose of the declaration as stated in their opinion was to avoid repetition of any "erroneous" interpretation going forward.

You will find use of the word erroneous several times in the opinions and declaration of the Court. What you will not find are the words illegal or illegally anywhere in the document. You will also not find any mention of votes, vote, or voters in either the majority opinion or final declaration; although those words do appear several times in the dissenting opinions due to their concern over protection of voters rights.

The case is Jefferson v. Dane County which was decided separately from Donald J. Trump v. Joseph R. Biden both decided on the same day, December 14, 2020. In neither case does the Court say in their opinion, judgement, or declaration that "votes were likely [cast] illegally". The only time those words are used in either of the two cases is in Trump v. Biden and there only in discussing the claims and assertions made by the Trump campaign and NOT in any findings of the Wisconsin Supreme Court which affirmed the decision of the circuit court in rejecting those claims.
