Haha... speaking of cherry picking the countries for the list - the real list is here, and the US is only #10... Sadly, Serbia lost its championship title pretty quick:
Cherry-picked based on a variety of reasons. They are countries that have
either been discussed here, offered variety in population size, offered variety in number of per capita new cases, or represent a few different global regions... or some combination of those factors. Limited to 8 because I didn't feel like typing more, limited attention spans of some, and many people don't bother to click on links. It also illustrates that there is little correlation to either geographic region or population size for daily new cases of Covid-19.
How many per capita hospital beds do those countries, that I cherry-picked, have to care for those that become seriously ill?
Serbia - 5.6 (Per 1,000 Population)
United States - 2.8 (Per 1,000 Population)
Canada - 2.5 (Per 1,000 Population)
Denmark - 2.5 (Per 1,000 Population)
Germany - 8.0 (Per 1,000 Population)
France - 6.0 (Per 1,000 Population)
South Korea - 12.3 (Per 1,000 Population)
Australia - 3.8 (Per 1,000 Population)
https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirusIt's fortunate that Serbia has double the number of hospital beds per capita relative to the United States. Staffing is a different issue for which I haven't looked for data.
