That's the story.  Not the final number of deaths even if it can ever be figured.

Sounds like you are admitting your new number of "around 4000 and going up" is yet another complete fabrication. Do you realize how this continuing behavior affects your credibility? Most people around here don't believe anything you say as it is, and this just cements that perception. Everything you say will be challenged.

Assumptions once again, and of course utter inability to answer the questions asked, multiple times, with a lick of facts. Given the options, your ship or ours, I'll take our ship any time.
I'd suggest Alan get a copy of Sebastian Brants book (ship of fools) or further back, Plato's Republic, but that too would be pointless even if both provide the GPS location from which he posts.  ;D

By the way, the article you linked to was incorrect about the cause of death of Officer Sicknick.  There was no fire extinguisher and he wasn't hit with it or anything else. That was made up by someone to make a statement, but it was BS.   The autopsy showed no blunt force at all.  In fact, they really don't know why he died.

The probe of the cause of Sicknick's death remains open. The medical examiner has not rendered an official cause of death.

Here's where I got the 4000 from.  Of course, there can't be Cuomo's fingerprints on the deaths to correlate those sent from the hospitals back to their homes to infect others. But the 4000 covers the period in question.  However, the main point is the governor's directive, the erroneous number of deaths he reported, and the subsequent coverup.  Meanwhile, I haven't heard from anyone here justifying Cuomo's actions.  Your turn.

1. At Least 4,000 Nursing Home Residents Died After DOH’s March 25 Guidance on Admission Practices
On March 25, DOH issued guidance providing that “[n]o resident shall be denied re-admission or admission
to the nursing home solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. Nursing homes
are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for
COVID-19 prior to admission or re-admission.”43 The guidance was rescinded on May 10 in Executive Order
202.30. From March 25 to May 8, 6,326 hospital patients were admitted to 310 nursing homes. The peak of
these admissions was the week of April 14.44 The peak single day in reported resident COVID-19 deaths was
April 8, with 4,000 reported deaths occurring after that date

Just like Jeremy, an ad hominem attack on me. If my facts are wrong, show your evidence. A jury would laugh you out of the court if all you presented was your claim the prosecutor is a liar.

I did not claim you are a liar. In fact, I stated the exact opposite. Perhaps this lack of reading comprehension is part of the issue here? And stating that you are ill-informed and gullible is not an ad hominem attack, it is simply an observation. Sort of like saying Danny DeVito is short.

Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice (which isn't happening despite your need to try), shame on us.
Democrat gov Cuomo of  NY created a situation where 13000 old people died of Covid because of his directives.
Fooling yourself; expected.

I did not claim you are a liar.
No one in the forums did. The response we're getting is perhaps a result of guilt. But the accusations are, like so much of what's been written, utterly fabricated and without proof.

In arriving at your new 4000 deaths number, you have assumed every nursing home death subsequent to March 25, 2020 was caused by Cuomo's order. Such an assumption is completely unfounded and controverted by the very AG report you cite. I'll provide the text of the report you ignored for completeness. If anyone is reading along in the 80 page AG report, this appears on page 37, the page following the page Alan quoted.

Quote
DOH has said that nothing in the guidance stated that a facility should accept patients who could not be safely cared for. As to whether the March 25 guidance affected risks to residents, DOH presented data49 reflecting the spike in health care worker infection and the later spike in deaths as circumstantial support for the position that the guidance did not contribute much to resident risks or deaths. Criticism since then notes that there has been no presentation of additional evidence as to whether the admission of patients from hospitals to nursing homes may have contributed to COVID-19 transmission or COVID-19 related deaths of nursing home residents. DOH states CDC says COVID-19 positive patients cannot likely transmit the virus after nine days of infection, and that patients are most infectious within two days after symptoms appear.50 CDC guidance also says there is uncertainty on this. DOH says the median hospital stay was nine days.

Data linking the number of nursing home deaths to the admissions policy contained in the March 25 guidance is obscured by that same guidance, which also prohibited nursing homes from requiring COVID-19 testing as a criterion for admission. This phenomenon was compounded by both the March 21 directive that largely paused the testing of downstate residents, and the under-reporting of nursing home deaths generally (as previously discussed). OAG’s investigation to date has not revealed an admission from any nursing home operator that they could not care for referred residents. However, using the DOH publicized data, over 4,000 nursing home deaths occurred after the issuance of the March 25 guidance.51 While additional data and analysis would be required to ascertain the effect of such admissions in individual facilities, these admissions may have contributed to increased risk of nursing home resident infection, and subsequent fatalities (whether due to actual transmission of infection from new residents to incumbent residents, or due to the facilities’ poor self-assessment during the admission process that was followed by failure to provide appropriate care to that patient or other residents.)

7 republicans with courage and 43 feckless cowards hoping for favours from Trump instead of working on fixing their party. They just dig their own graves. It will be interesting to watch the 2022 senate elections.

One of the worst of the lot:
McConnell today: "No question Trump is responsible for provoking riot."
Just one of Trump's lawyers lame argument: you can't impeach Trump because he's no longer in office.
McConnell beginning of January*:"There is simply no chance that a fair or serious trial could conclude before President-elect Biden is sworn in next week."
That's a brilliant political move in the short-term. I hope.

Fine.  If you don't think Cuomo killed 4000, how many do you think he did kill? New Yorkers want to know.

Based on the AG report, the number is currently unknown. If you read the AG report in its entirety, you will learn that there were a wide variety of factors that led to deaths in the nursing homes.

Unlike you sir, most if not all here discussing this topic will not post fabricated values! Invent your own number, accept that made up value as fact; this is a consistent behavior your readers here expect.

See, stupid questions are easy to ask. Let's stop.
Based on the AG report, that number is currently unknown.
Alan knows the unknown number. :'(

As of this evening, Worldometer is reporting 496,000+ US deaths, with daily numbers in the ca. 2500 to 3000 range (with some weekend fluctuation as per usual). It looks like the US will hit the half million death mark on Monday, maybe Tuesday. So from Dec 10 to mid-February, there were 200,000 Covid deaths.

Good chance, that half of those 200,000 deaths in that period were results of the Thanksgiving and Christmas travels and family get-togethers.
