The last time a Trump company went public it didn't go well for investors
Trump made millions in the 1990s when his casino company went public. Investors lost a fortune.

I thought you were kidding but I decided to check and found the story. Maybe they can save shipping fees by putting the sneakers and the bibles in the same box. I'd proofread those bibles, make sure they're legit.

I'm waiting for June or July, see if those sneakers are actually ever shipped. There must be bookies somewhere taking bets on that.

It's easy to poke fun at this farce, but it's not really funny.  If people ever needed a good reason to vote, this upcoming election might be it. If they don't, truly crazy people will end up in office. It's one thing for small government conservatives or tech bro pseudo-libertarians to say that they don't believe in government, it's another thing when you give power to nutcases by default because you're so disgusted by politics that you stay home on election day. Which might be the strategy, now that I think about it.

Trumps first mentor + attorney represented  John Gotti and several other mobsters....go figure.

 Roy Cohn..a real ugly character.

here we see the donny with his buddies Misters Sharpton and King...the later convicted of a stomping death murder

theres always the chance that the donny will require sequestration after his rapidly accelerating implosion and not be fit to do much of anything

Saw this today, thought it was spot on:

"How sad it must be- believing that scientists, scholars, historians, economists, and journalists have devoted their entire lives to deceiving you, while a reality tv star with decades of fraud and exhaustively documented lying is your only beacon of truth and honesty".

Truth Social's public offering is being questioned https://www.theguardian.com/business/2024/mar/27/how-can-donald-trumps-lossmaking-truth-social-be-worth-8bn. Might be fun for an investigative journalist to find out how many of Trump's "allies" have invested.

Others weigh in as well https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/26/markets/trump-media-stock-truth-social/index.html#:~:text=Trump%20Media%20%26%20Technology%20Group%2C%20the,was%20briefly%20halted%20for%20volatility..

I wouldn't take investment advice from me, but I think crypto might be safer. :)

There is no bottom and there is no end to it, is there. I finally watched the lame video when he tries to hawk his "Trump-approved" bibles and it was truly hilarious. I think he actually claimed the bible was his favourite book! Sure, and I like kale in a sandwich. Could the delivery have been more phoney, it was a caricature. He's just spoofing his followers at this point, isn't he. He and his buds must go into a back room and just guffaw when the sales orders come in.

Trump Media shares fall sharply after company reports net loss of $58 million in 2023
PUBLISHED MON, APR 1 202410:55 AM EDT
Shares in Trump Media Technology Group fell sharply after the company reported a net loss of $58 million in 2023.
The newly publicly traded social media company of former President Donald Trump had total revenue of just $4.1 million last year, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A year earlier, Trump Media & Technology Group reported a net profit of $50.5 million and total revenue of only $1.47 million, according to the 8-K filing. "TMTG expects to incur operating losses for the foreseeable future," says the filing by the company, which has a market valuation of more than $6.5 billion.

Another successful Trumpian business.

On another topic, I'd never heard of Comstock laws before, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbToabf0jH4. Are many Americans aware of this possible development, I wonder?

I can only speak for this one American and yes, it is a concern.

Again, you just can't make this stuff up:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/republican-lawmakers-introduce-bill-rename-dulles-airport-donald-trump-rcna146027
House GOP lawmakers introduce bill to rename Dulles Airport after Donald Trump Democrats panned the bill as "ridiculous" and an attempt by Republicans to "suck up" to Trump. The bill, filed Friday, is sponsored by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., the chief deputy majority whip, and is co-sponsored by six other Republicans: Reps. Michael Waltz, of Florida; Andrew Ogles, of Tennessee; Chuck Fleischmann, of Tennessee; Paul Gosar, of Arizona; Barry Moore, of Alabama; and Troy Nehls, of Texas. The measure says it would "designate the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia as the 'Donald J. Trump International Airport.'"

I can't see Trump allowing his name to be used without having royalties attached. For sure he'd sue.

I've been saying for years that there should be a moratorium on naming stuff, buildings, parks, statues, etc., after politicians until at least 50 years after their death. It takes that long for all the skeletons to escape from the various closets.

Interesting article about service control and denial on public/private carriers from a historical perspective, https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/04/03/how-to-fix-big-tech-the-old-fashioned-way-00150329. The issue didn't originate with modern high-tech companies.Trigger warning: the article does not contain partisan vitriol.

For the mere price of $2.5 million, people who raise money for former President Donald Trump can secure a "personalized" pair of "Never Surrender" high-top sneakers, according to a donor-access program menu shared with NBC News by a person close to the Republican National Committee.

Maybe this forum's Never Surrender, Never Photograph member can pony up the $$?  ;D

SCOTUS and gerrymandering https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/11/supreme-court-likely-to-side-with-south-carolina-gop-in-racial-gerrymandering-case-00121003.

That gerrymandering exists at all, whatever the motivation, is quite repulsive. Is the US really unable to run elections fairly? Lots of lesser countries manage to do so.
