In an interview yesterday, Dr. Fauci revealed that he hasn't briefed President Trump on the status of the coronavirus in two months, meaning shortly after President Trump stopped the daily briefings, abdicated his role in addressing the pandemic, and left the problem in the hands of the governors. But I am sure President Trump is getting the information from somewhere, Fox News being the most likely source. I don't remember the name of their epidemiologist. Speaking of Fox News, in an interview yesterday, Trump said that Dr. Fauci was a "nice man" but had "made many mistakes", thus preparing the stage for invoking the Hans Solo defense: "It's not my fault."
Trump is having a big (everything is big) political rally in New Hampshire tomorrow night. Instead of holding it in a civic arena as he did in Tulsa, he is going to hold it in an aircraft hanger. Not sure how that is really going to be all that much better, but maybe the wind will blow the virus away. Many people say that the wind always blows a virus in the direction away from you, especially at night. Just in case, they will be handing out hand sanitizer and masks, but whether anyone bothers to use it or wear them is anybodies guess. On the plus side, you won't be able to see all the empty seats in an aircraft hanger.
And now the quote of the day, this coming from Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, the current epicenter of the pandemic:
"If we can open Home Depot, we can open schools."
