Whenever an analysis is posted online without being a reputable source/peer reviewed I would start with one question: Cui prodest?
Sometimes we want to make simple things than cannot be, in this case the interactions. If you read the comments there are some good points there, at least one about the incomplete analysis and another one about human behavior, maybe those stay-at-home orders didn't impact that much the actual behavior, in most places wasn't really enforced in the beginning.

Just really clutching to it, aren't you.

It's not enough every single model you have been siting has constantly been revised down even though they all took, expect for the very initial one, social distancing.

But anyway, you have already lost this Armand, and the reason I can say this is because every single grade AAA politician and governor is talking about re-opening, across the political spectrum.

Perhaps that is why Trump was talking as forceful as he was, to make sure he was the first person in front of the curve.

Yeh...stopped foreigners from coming in...good. But he let in 40,000 Americans, many from China without testing them, without quaranteening them...just let them loose to spread the good news...FAIL.

Yep he let Americans come back to America.  Shall we discuss the lawsonce again?  Oh wait I forget the laws no longer matter.

Oh, BTW, once again you ar clueless...Americans coming home ....

Shelves were empty and now a scramble to fill them. Trump had 3 years to do this...but did not. FAIL.

Yep, he failed on this.  But so did the Govenors who's JOB it was to make sure their states were also prepared.  Lots of blame to go around for that one.

Quote
His 15 day guidelines came with mixed message...it will magically go away by April. Many of his cronie Governors did not take him seriously...like the partying on Florida beaches. FAIL.

Once again you display your ignorance.  So whats new.  I guess words like HOPE and MAYBE and IT MIGHT are beyond your limitied ability to comprehend.

You want to Blame DeSantis for not closing the beaches I'm with you on that.  However its HIS State to control and not Trumps.  You want to assign a failto Desantis, have at it. Sadly for you, your blind hatred of Trump is clearly evident.

Quote
Yeh...he's just a darling that did nothing wrong...now he's doing his usual political dance blaming everyone out there...at a time where he should be totally focussed on dealing with his shit storm...he's busy politicking for the fall election. That political propoganda video he ran during his news conference was a desperate measure from a desperate man.

I wouild submit the desperate one is Chez, so drunk on Orange Man Bad he just can't control himself.  This is an election year so politics happen.  Its not one sided btw.  Again welcome to reality, a state in which you seem to have escaped from.

Trudeau painted his face years ago, before he got into politics. That action didn't kill any human lives nor inflicted any economic damage.
Trump downplayed the virus situation and bears responsibility for thousands of deaths when he was a sitting president against advice from experts.
The world would be a better place if he kept his mouth shut and instead painted his face. In any color.

What experts who advised Trump had their advice ignired.  Looks like you too are stricken badly with the Orange Man Bad virus.

Oh, so it wasn't the real lockdown? That's the same argument from the loonie left as "The real socialism has never been tried anywhere."

Or, for us who recovered from the coronavirus: "1. it wasn't the real Corona, just a cold or 2. you must have superhuman genes

Quote
Children up to the age of 11 are returning to nurseries and schools across Denmark, as the government becomes the first in Europe to relax coronavirus restrictions on education.

Thank god there is still some sanity in this mass hysterics.

You know at first, I thought, maybe this is not the right time, but you got to hand it to Trump to be able to control the narrative.

Pelosi vows to challenge Trump's 'dangerous, illegal' move to freeze WHO funding

Now instead of debating how he handled the pandemic, Trump goaded Pelosi to unwittingly shift the conversation to be about the WHO.

I believe I read that Cuomo supports it too, so another suicide mission it is by that supposed brilliant speaker of the house.

Ok, so there is not enough data to conclude that the speed of lockdown is not correlated with the number of deaths?

But there IS enough data to conclude that the speed of lockdown IS correlated with the number of deaths when it comes to blaming Trump?

Are you guys serious!?

This post just shows nothing will ever be good enough for you.

BTW, if these lock downs are so important, why is FL not getting creamed?  The took much longer to have a lockdown, were filled with Spring Breakers running around and FL has an old native population?  Bodies should be piling up down there, but they are not.  Kind of strange considering how much people are touting this lock down.

Many of those spring breakers were not from Florida...but they took whatever they caught back home with them just to continue spreading the virus.

Still, the face painting was silly and insignificant act. Instead of harping on that you should send him your suggestions not to increase deficit and avoid printing of more money.
Your guy is doing the same stupid stuff.  Printing money or borrowing to make voters happy rather than doing the political hard but economically smart thing to do.   Nothing.

I did not say not to allow Americans to come home. I said each and everyone of them should have been tested and if not tested, quarantined for 14 days to ensure they did not have the virus. Don't you think some of those ( many perhaps ) people returning from China, Italy, Spain etc... might have been infected and they were allowed to just waltz off the planes and go about as if nothing is wrong. This is a fatal mistake which resulted in community spread of the virus.

Please read carefully every word I wrote before replying because you are starting to sound like you don't understand what you read.

Remember what I said...try hiding those symptoms...or better yet...just try hiding.

Yep, you won whatever you think. You are not interested on finding anything, only to win your alleged battles. In case you didn't figure it out, you were fighting this one alone. Or maybe you have some Don Quixote in you.
Funny how my peers are on the same page that this thing is working but the others who until few months ago had never seen anything like it, start doubting everything.
I can make a blog page on medium.com, throw in some statistics and you'll have no clue if what I'm saying is right. You'll care if it fits with what you want to hear.

I'm talking about that post. I didn't say it's right or it's false, only that I would like to see it confirmed with other serious analysis. This is how good evidence work. You don't just throw a dance victory with the first bone that's thrown at you.
You can easily botch numbers and make it look right for your narrative. Should you look at when cases started instead of actual deaths (at least yet), should you look at how effective the lockdown was, should you look if people were actually practicing already social distancing before the official orders, are the numbers complete or just a snapshot, etc. Is that statistical analysis the right one to use for this?
I get it you want this in simplistic terms, I guess that's why Trump has such a good grab, but it's just not possible. Life is not 0 or 1. Unless you have tons of 0 and 1 to code it.

And regarding cui prodest. How reliable is this person to do this analysis? There are many just lying out there to get what they want. There was a recent medium.com post making a lot of false claims about Covid treatment; and enough people read it and started pointing the flaws, then suddenly the post disappeared. Don't be so gullible.

Every one of those returning were screened.  Can you not read?

So lets see if you have anything at all correct.

Here is the law:

Under 42 Code of Federal Regulations parts 70 and 71, CDC is authorized to detain, medically examine, and release persons arriving into the United States and traveling between states who are suspected of carrying these communicable diseases.

As part of its federal authority, CDC routinely monitors persons arriving at U.S. land border crossings and passengers and crew arriving at U.S. ports of entry for signs or symptoms of communicable diseases.

When alerted about an ill passenger or crew  member by the pilot of a plane or captain of a ship, CDC may detain passengers and crew as necessary to investigate whether the cause of the illness on board is a communicable disease.

If a quarantinable disease is suspected or identified, CDC may issue a federal isolation or quarantine order.

Public health authorities at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels may sometimes seek help from police or other law enforcement officers to enforce a public health order.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Coast Guard officers are authorized to help enforce federal quarantine orders.

Breaking a federal quarantine order is punishable by fines and imprisonment.

Federal law allows the conditional release of persons from quarantine if they comply with medical monitoring and surveillance.

In the rare event that a federal order is issued by CDC, those individuals will be provided with an order for quarantine or isolation. An example of a Quarantine Order for Novel Coronavirus (print-only) pdf icon[PDF – 5 pages] is provided. This document outlines the rationale of the federal order as well as information on where the individual will be located, quarantine requirements including the length of the order, CDC’s legal authority, and information outlining what the individual can expect while under federal order.

So in case you can't read let's spell it out once more.

Those who were returning were screened upon their arrival.  They were free to go UNLESS it was SUSPECTED or PROVEN that had the virus.  That is why they were screened.

Thats all the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is legally allowed to do.

Now here is what the CDC told those who were returning.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/after-travel-precautions.html

There is widespread, ongoing transmission of novel coronavirus worldwide (see Global COVID-19 Pandemic Notice). If you have traveled internationally in the past 14 days, stay home and monitor your health.tay home for 14 days from the time you returned home from international travel.

During this 14-day period, take these steps to monitor your health and practice social distancing:

Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Also watch for cough or trouble breathing. Use this temperature log pdf icon[PDF – 2 pages] to monitor your temperature.
Stay home and avoid contact with others. Do not go to work or school.
Do not take public transportation, taxis, or ride-shares.
Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet or 2 meters).

OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

At least some of my clients announced today that they are reopening their businesses on May 4th barring any new extention of the Indiana stay at home order which expires on April 20th.

It will be interesting to see if it gets extended.

Cutting funds to WHO now is criminal. End of story.

And yet, I'll repeat  it, every model you have pointed to has been revised lower, significantly and repeatably.  But anyway, if the data is truly not there for this, then, as Slobo pointed out, neither is it there to blame Trump for anything either.

Insofar as ending cutting, it is not criminal right now.  WHO has a rather large bank roll and will not feel the effects for 6 months.

But if not now, then when?  After this is over the attention and resolve wont be there.  It will get kicked down the road and nothing will happen; this is the perfect time.  Not to mention it is a masterful way of getting his opponents to unknowingly pick a winning battle for Trump.  I think Trump's ability politically is not to win the argument, it is to trick his opponents to pick the argument he can win.
