Totally missing the other points and stretching the one you think would put me in a bad light. You need some social discipline and seeing how people behave here is very clear US doesn’t have it. I think the nordics are the closest to some asian countries and it goes down from there. Even Sweden has plenty of missteps on this but generally they tend to be more private and naturally keeping the distance. Now that’s only partially true, and many of the newcomers behave differently.
Now, outside some of the nutjobs, I actually think that in the Midwest people would behave more considerate towards each other vs other places in US. I’m not talking big cities, all bets are off there. Reminds me of my shopping experiences in Ohio/Michigan vs Florida: in the first they excuse themselves when they pass 6 feet behind you, in Florida they knock you with their shopping carts and don’t even acknowledge it.

Bottom line, lets see how things evolve before claiming what’s best.

After endless posts arguing that Americans will not follow the quarantine/stay at home or follow government's regulations because it's in their rebel nature, now you argue about it? Hypocrite much?
Yes, I think that as a whole, Americans are less socially disciplined and willing to follow regulations than Swedish. Could I be wrong? Sure, but so far I don't see Americans behaving like the Swedish.

So, can you show me where it says that the official recommendation from WHO for countries to follow Sweden's example? And what exactly is the "Swedish model"?
Until then, it's some thoughts thrown out for debate. Not to mention, the devil is in the details, implementing something many times it's much harder than designing it.

He one wrote it was criminal to defund the WHO.  And most liberals feel the same; they all feel we should be following their advice, which is now lined up to where I am. 

So, I am just using one of your famed institutions against your arguments for lockdown.  I mean if WHO now holds up Sweden, and you insist on following the experts there, you really cant argue against opening up now.

Interesting story and I'm glad he made it.  Like other things I have read, being placed on a vent may save your life but its really hard on the body, as your friend mentioned.

Not to be critical of anyones lifestlye, but the article mentions he smoked pot.  I have read elsewhere that pot smoking could make the lung problems worse with Covid 19.  I wonder if anyone will study that and cig smoking as well.  Full disclosure, I smoked pot in my younger days and smoked cigs for many years too.

I'm not convinced... yet... that many American will be responsible.  I'll not see any addition requests for work for at least another month while the factories get back on line and get the prototypes produced.  So. I'll watch very carefully to see how this goes before I commit to working in an open environment again.
