I also think that Bloomberg waited too long, but there is still a lot of time for voters to make up their mind.
Impossible to make predictions at this time. We'll have a much better picture in 2 weeks, after the Super Tuesday.

If Warren's campaign had not also crashed, like Biden's, I would be more likely to agree with you.  Bloomberg's whole strategy was to let everyone bash each other to hell and back, and then he comes in to pick up the pieces.  And even if Biden crashed beforehand, it was still a winning bet, so long as no one really consolidated any part of the party.  This looked like the case back in October, but who could have predicted Warren's fall from grace.

That was the miscalculation.

Now, even if Bloomberg wins, it will be by a slim amount and will be seen by most Bernie Bros as the Dems gypping Bernie of the nomination, just like in 2016.  If the Dems are smart, they will gyp Bernie and just except Trump winning a 2nd term.  This will then allow state Dems to remain viable for redistricting in 2021.  But the Dems have been pretty horrible in calculations recently.  So I would not put it past them to roll the bones, which happen to be weighted for snake eyes.

It's all academic. The entire Democrat field is a joke. The only person who can bring Trump down is Trump. He keeps working on it, but if he's going to bring it off against this incredible field of incompetent clowns he's gonna have to work a lot harder. And the impeachment charade guarantees that the Democrats will lose the House and the Republicans hang on to the Senate.

I'm afraid you're mistaken this time, Russ. Trump can't bring Trump down: the NRA will block it; his base won't allow it. It would have to admit it had made a bad choice. He can only resign. But if the offer deal is good enough... who knows?

I agree.  It's too early.  Bloomberg is being protected by the powers that be in politics and the press.  He'll be given a pass on his frisk policies of minorities.  I could see Bloomberg and Kobluchar or Warren as VP.

I'd speculate that the media and all his competitors will use Bloomberg's frisk-and-search policy as an easy and convenient way to attack him, but when it comes to the actual voters, most of them are not disturbed by it.

When it comes to the choice of VP, I can't see Warren on Bloomberg's ticket. Klobuchar is a definite possibility.

The media won;t attack him because they're anti-Trump.

Putting Warren on the ticket would keep the left voting so they don;t stay home. It would have the added benefit of having a woman on the ticket, although no longer a minority woman.  :)

Still not so sure about Bloomberg now that Warren and Biden are going after him with a vengeance.

I guess they both want to show how horrible campaigners they are going after someone that will enter the race after they are forced to drop out instead of going after Bernie, their real threat.

How those got to the top I will never be able to figure out.

 ??? ??? ???

But anyway, real Bernie Bro quote from yesterday, " I'd vote for any of the Dems in the field right now. I dont think I can vote for Bloomberg if he were the nominee."  So maybe Bloomberg will be able to win the nominee, but he will have an uphill battle getting the votes to win the general.

Joe, you probably need to read Holman Jenkins's opinion piece in today's Wall Street Journal. The title of the piece is "Bloomberg Buys the Democratic Elite." Jenkins points out that buying the elite isn't going to bring along the hoi polloi. In fact, it probably will do the reverse.

Then, there's never Trumper Peggy Noonan's piece: "Mike Bloomberg Could Pull It Off." Er.... I don't think so.

Perhaps for Bloomberg's sake, we better hope he does not win.  Otherwise the presidency just may get a little more suicidal.

Mike Bloomberg 'is considering picking Hillary Clinton as his running mate in the 2020 Democratic race to help take on Trump'

The source for the story is the Drudge Report so you may want to factor that in when evaluating the credibility of the report.

A Drudge Report story picked up by the Daily Mail?  It sure doesn't get any more authoritative than that.

Since the Drudge Report is an aggregator, it would appear this is a Daily Mail story.

Just an FYI

Added on Edit:

It appears it was a Drudge story. My bad

And you may want to work on your sense of humor.

So you think this story is the Drudge Report's attempt at humor?

Since you’re not a USA citizen I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt here.  There is a running joke on HRC that she can make people kill themselves since more then a handfull of nefarious associates of the Clintons have done so, like Epstein to name one.

You know you are in trouble when you have to explain your own jokes.

It was a pretty direct joke at least as Joe expressed it,  with the key word being suicidal.

BTW, as an aside I looked at your work and I like it.
