But can you have a bad ponytail day?

I can.

;-)

You could get it caught in a door or some silly brat could set it on fire...

Let's hope Moira's internet connection is down and she won't read this...

She worries me; she's been allotted an adjoining field to her usual one, and this one has no electrical fence, but instead, one of those prison-style barbed wire things that at chest height, has a top row that bends in about ten centimetres.

She knows there is no electrics involved now, and she comes right up to the fence to get her carrots. Trouble with that is that when I toss in the vegetable she moves her head very quickly only about three centimetres from that bloody barbed wire. She could lose an eye.

I thought about feeding her by hand so she didn't have to bend her head down quickly like that, but the trouble with that technique is that I don't want saliva on my hands. I have fed her like that before, but as I usually stop at a bar now for a snack with my coffee, I know there's a good chance I'd forget to wash my hands before eating the thing. Sod's Law etc.

I'm really getting very fond of her. She has beautiful eyes, when you can see them, and her blonde mane looks quite sexy when it's backlit!

:-)

Realised I had a shot of that field showing part of the barbed wire fence that bends inwards at the top:

Were it that long!

I guess I could always carry a little soda syphon and keep it as a fire extinguisher, just in case. Could double as a weapon if I get mugged, but would anyone try to steal an old digital Nikon?

I had a pony tail for a bit. It was magnificent. Lol!  At least that’s what I kept telling everybody

General Musings would be an apt screen name for the OP.

I had girlfriend who was very fond on here ponytail. Occasionally she plugged it in and I had to handle the whip while shouting “yihaa”
Never saw here with a bad ponytail day.

But Ivo, there's a reasonable case for assuming she was a she and not a he who thought he was a she. (Whch magically brings us back both to the Beatles, as remarked earlier, and to our friend Jo-Jo, the signifyin' monkey.)

I have no such doubts about being a he. I even have a very solid and reasonable purpose to my ponytail-as-is. It's a cost-cutting exercise in being sensible and not wasting money on hairdressers who could do the gig in 43 seconds flat, but would feel obliged to charge me for an hour's pleasant conversation about football teams, their managers and other sporting things that I hate that make me switch off the news programmes. (At least there is one positive to it: when I see the images and hear the screeching music coming on I know it's time to switch off: the news is over.)

I’m so happy to be a teetotaler, it surely prevented me from awkward situations.

Could? Don’t be modest Rob, JoJo would be disappointed. Well, not for long, as monkeys have short attention spans and are easily bored by ramblings.

Does hair spray count? You know the non-green non-organic stuff.

James Bond used a spray can of some cosmetic substance, along with a lighter (not Felix Leiter that time) to quell the interest of a dangerous snake introduced into his hotel suite to do him serious harm, which really wasn't a nice thing to do, was it now?

Is a serpent a blunt instrument?

After use as a whip, it is. Ivo might know...

I was wondering if there comes a time when one begins to know the difference between indolence and genuine lack of interest in a formerly all-consuming obsession?

In contrast to Rob, I can still have a bad hair day   :P

The difference is Rob and I can really shine!

The difference is in how that spot behind the stomach feels.
