Where was that taken. Are those really swans? No matter, the light and composition makes them look elegant even in that state.

Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, outside Midland, Ontario. Apparently, Trumpeter Swans were just plain
good eatin' to the Hurons and French in the 17th century. By the 1930's fewer than 70 were known to exist, but conservation efforts have brought their number back to over 46,000 birds across North America by 2010. As for the picture, I just liked the light and the scene. Technically problematic – handheld at too slow a shutter speed with no stabilization and a breeze blowing in an open window.
