What's disgusting is when someone gloats over a person dying from Covid just because he was opposed to taking the shot.
Sorry, but I think that "gloating" is too strong a term to describe the original statement. My inference was that it was more along the lines of "He got what was coming to him." It's not a particularly charitable thing to say, maybe, but not out of line in the context of these discussions. For example, I have heard the similar thought expressed elsewhere (not here) in reference to the 4 dead at Kent State, that they got what was coming to them for daring to protest even though "protest" is regarded as wholly patriotic in other contexts. I have also heard similar thoughts expressed on these pages in reference to someone who was killed by police, because "what do you expect when you confront police?"
When someone refuses to take sensible and reasonable preventative steps to fight against an infectious disease, it's not easy to feel sympathy for them when they suffer the consequences. Another way of looking at it might be that they are heroes in the defense of freedom, like it says on the license plate. Do you think anyone will put up statues in their name?
