Given my ancestry I should take offence at this, but she's such a preposterous figure that it's hard to do anything but laugh at the infantile antics. I'd shake my head that such a bonehead can survive the electoral selection process but we've seen worse. We won't know till next election if her constituents approve. For all we know, using that term might gain her some support.

No one should be surprised. People prefer to forget inconvenient history. During the post WW1 KKK revival, Italians and other "papists" were not well regarded. More recently Covid has been openly referred to as "Kung flu" by officials in high office.

Good speech by Biden last night and a refreshing change from the one a year ago by his predecessor, full with lies, unintelligible sounds and boastful superlatives about himself.

Listening to this brand-new President, watching what he has done so far, it's impossible not to wonder how many lives would have been saved if the United States had had a reasonable, competent, stable president when the coronavirus struck. How many who died would be alive today?

It was exactly one year ago that the pandemic was declared; one year ago that the former president gave a national address filled with lies, empty promises, and incoherent information.

What followed was our excruciating, dystopian year, during which the worst public health challenge in a century overlapped with a narcissistic, incompetent presidency. As a result, the United States became the epicenter of the global pandemic, with more cases and deaths than any country on Earth, despite having the most advanced medical facilities, some of the world's top scientists, and the greatest economic resources.

Why then are you giving Biden any credit?  It's his duty too.  Meanwhile, your Canada is way behind in getting vaccinations out because your leadership failed, unlike ours.   By our leadership, I include Trump and Biden.  Yet, you seem more concerned about what America is doing than your own country.  I find that strange and misplaced concern. Maybe it is easier looking at other country's problems rather than your own.
