Turns out the firm that will be examining the voting machines on behalf of the citizen opposed to the marijuana measure is the same firm that made up those fake affidavits in the kraken suit, so Giuliani figures he can get info from them. My guess, and is just a guess, is that they will find nothing wrong with these 22 machines. Doesn’t mean all the rest of the machines they haven’t examined aren’t rigged, right?

The interviewee discusses things such as how we don't always say what's really on our minds to spare people's feelings to how autocrats and dictators use this human trait to control people. He gives several examples from the post-communist era in eastern Europe where although many people were silent about the communist regimes before the various "revolutions", hardly any communists could be found afterwards. He uses examples of incidents involving highly public assassinations by Saddam Hussein and in North Korea, to how Trump used personal insults to silence opponents and critics. Once the floodgates are open though, the tide can turn quickly. Once the buffoon is gone I wonder how many Republicans will deny having supported him. There seems to be articles these days about him being around for 2024 or at least acting like a kingmaker and I wonder if the GOP is really spineless enough to allow that to happen. A large part of the American electorate seems vulnerable to the con so I'm not optimistic. This is a shame because there are real structural economic problems in the rust belt and elsewhere that really need adult attention but all the voters get is click bait. Insults are not discussion, tweets are not policies.

Speaking of Kayleigh McEnany, she decided to wing it today instead of reading an idiotic response out of her binder. This is what she said:

The word is that Trump is expanding and refreshing his living quarters down at Mar-A-Lago. I guess everyone knows that the club is not taxed as a residence. I seem to remember that when he bought the property and converted it to a club, the local taxing authority required a covenant that while the club could provide overnight accommodations for guests, no one could live there more than seven days in a row or more than three non-consecutive weeks out of the year. I'm pretty sure Trump is just going to disregard that. After all, Melania is down there picking out a school for Barron. So the next time Trump gets in a fight with the city over what size flagpole he can have or whatever, the city is going to try to toss him out or start taxing the club as a residence. Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I was talking about lawyers, Kafka, and psychotic clients? I can't wait to watch it play out.

This article says that Trump is planning some stunt on Inauguration Day which may include taking Air Force One down to Florida to hold a rally at the same time as the ceremonies in Washington in an apparent attempt to minimize Biden’s TV audience. Two thoughts: first, everybody will be at work, so nobody will be watching either event on TV except retired folks, some of whom may elect to play bingo instead, and second, the Trump rally will only be broadcast on Newsmax so who cares. I have been around for a while and don’t recall ever watching an inauguration live. I have seen some replays of the oath taking, excerpts from the inaugural address, and a few shots of the new president walking down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, but it is not like it is very engaging TV. I think this is all about who had the biggest crowd size. Maybe Sean Spicer will do a cameo.
