Thanks Cam. We have been four times over a 18 year period. You should make the trip.

How long of a trip do you typically do?  BTW, I'm going to Hokkaido next year - inspired by your images.

Thank Cam for the kind feedback on my images from Hokkaido. We generally do New Zealand south island in three weeks. We may go back to Hokkaido. I am trying to decide if there is more I want out of the area for my portfolio. The other decision is how the images from this area will sell.

From a walk along the creek last night. I was using a new tripod setup (Manfrotto 055 with geared head) and had a few moments of nice soft light before it all went gray.

Over the past three years, I traveled to all 50 states (plus Washington DC) to take portraits of Americans for a project that I call Neighbors. A few weeks ago, I installed a selection of 86 portraits along a park in the Lower East Side of NYC. You can find them between 1st and 2nd Ave on Houston Street. Stretching over the length of almost two football fields, it's probably the biggest and most viewed exhibition of photography in the US at the moment. The installation will be up until the first week of July.

All photos shot on either the Hasselblad H5 or X1D.
