This image was captured in Maine as I was scouting locations for a PODAS workshop.

Not sure that I like the bright colours shot into the light. Looks a bit unnatural to me but certainly it is an eye-catching image.

What interested me was your concept of adjusting the ISO for different parts of the image. I have a CCD sensor in an IQ180 back and am thinking of getting an IQ3100 as you used for your image.

With a CCD sensor, there would be limited scope for using a range of ISOs in an image.

So, I guess that would be another plus for getting a CMOS sensor!

Thank you for the idea.

One from the fall of 2016.  Still impressed with the IQ3100 and high light retention, but not so much with shadow push.  More than likely it's my back as other report excellent push.
Taken in 2 exposures, ISO50 for sky and ISO 200 for tree as wind was blowing around 25 mph and there is still some wind movement.
Image may appear a tad over sharpened, due to Flickr, as it seems to add a bit of sharpening to images.

Here are a few pictures of a friend of mine Shirlene who I shot just after the 2018 Chinese New Year celebrations

Lovely. What's the thing draped between the two islands on the right - some kind of cable car?

Thanks for the kind comments.  The link below explains the background on the "Wedded Rocks" or more accurately - Meoto Iwa.  Since my wife is a marriage and family therapist it was only fitting I photograph this for her.

Another image from Japan.  A friend pointed out to me that this is a tree that Michael Kenna photographed.  Always interesting to look at how others photographed a subject.  Obviously, when he photographed it was a younger tree.  See link below of one of his images of this tree on Biwa Lake.

Does the tree have an agent? It should, you know.

Just looked at your site: you really do get black and white photography. I particularly like your Cuban work.

Lovely stuff.
