Bokeh of a distant tree

Nice and reticulate. I like the soft colors…

I like the second one.  I wonder if rotating it so it's horizontal will work better.

I got a new lens which I now have to return because everything looks 'soft.' I decided to have fun with the soft images and produced this 'abstract.'

John,
That lens might be perfect for some of your move-the-camera-during-exposure shots.  ;)

This shot resembles the ridges at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley. Where was it, out of curiosity?

That is is very small area of denuded farmland just north of Toronto, called the 'Badlands of Cheltenham.' A lot of professionals do fashion work there, and it is often used as a backdrop for movies and ads, because it has martian-looking landscape. Because I isolate the small ridges and always try to leave out the hand of man, they come out looking like like real badlands. In the winter, you can create beautiful snowscapes that look for all the world, like real sand dunes.

Thanks for the comments interest, Eric.

This began as a lo-res cell phone pic taken several years ago from my daughter's fifth story apartment window on the upper west side NYC, looking west.

Small, it looks good. But as soon as I click on it, it becomes pixelated and out of focus.  was that you intent?

A little patience- actually a lot of patience- observing ripples and water movement.

Yes, it started out very small and pixelated with jpeg artifacts as well. I changed color temp and made some localized exposure changes to keep it from blowing out whites and blacks, then I resized it so it wouldn't be so small, but it definitely looks better smaller.

I love the gentleness of the colours and the image John. I got some tree reflections but they were in the winter when we still had open water.

Nice image, but a tad too dark for me.
