I totally agree. And it reminds me of some of the Mars photos, evidence that ancient river deltas once existed there.

You know folks, even if they are not abstracts, it is really nice to so many 'offbeat' representations of subjects in this forum. Eric has been shooting from helicopters again. Anyone ever that popular show on fractals from a few years ago. Eric's images remind me of fractals, like things we have seen before, but have similarities to other things either smaller or larger. Like the suggestion of looking like a delta.

And that brook is fine with subtle lighting that threatens to go brighter but remains restrained.

Went out yesterday with friends on pre-spring outing to photograph deer and birds. When I showed my friends this image they asked where is the deer? I said these are fleeting deer. They looked incredulous.

John, I have to admit that it takes a lot of imagination for me to see the deer connection, too. But notwithstanding that difficulty, I still like it. And many of the other images in your Camera Impressions gallery on SmugMug are just superb. Anyone interested in this sort of thing should really take a look at them.

Here's the Caponigro image. You need less imagination for it.

I got it from your comment, Jim. I immediately thought of Paul's White Deer, which John's image strongly echoes.

Thanks Jim and Arlen. Especially to Jim, very much appreciate your comments. Of course it was tongue in cheek- the image is really backlit remains of goldenrod. I am sure you suspected the image is not really about deer. But I had to tell them something. I do like the Caponigro image, very cool. And I admit, never heard of him until I joined this site.

You know I was out of photography for a long time. When I got back into it, I decided that although I really like landscapes and scenics, and sunrises and sunsets, I liked the artistic, impressionist look, much more. and that's how I got back into it.
