I don't care what objects were in front of the camera.
I find the first image absolutely gripping: Sterile rigidity to the right, and dynamic life force to the left.

Under the canopy, taking cover from the rain, what did I see? Well I will let you guess.

Rain you say, oh chum...Herewith is the wet side...
A little soft...I'm a little unsteady these days. Could kick myself for not bringing the tripod.

Those are a couple of the best-looking chair abstracts that I can remember seeing.

John built that chair just so he could photograph it.

Thanks Arlen, Eric and Francois. I was going to post a third and make it a trio, but I thought may as well make it a quartet since they all came from the same chairs.

All very nice. My current favorite is the fourth.
I now declare John R "Chair of the Chair Photo Department!"

For me, the last two are the best of this "chair" set. The last one is really wild with those modified shapes.

I second Eric's suggestion about your nomination  ;D

Thanks guys. I have always wanted to be the "Chair" of something - not!
Despite the rain, it was bright outside and it was the beautiful soft light which drew me to the chairs in the first place. You can see them here under the canopy, a kind of open air giant softbox tent. They do concerts in the summer.

Clearly the chair designer was a photographer.

The way they stack is clearly for the benefit of photography.

Not abstract but still a very nice and classical composition.

On my walks I must have went by this scene at least 10 times without noticing anything. Then I heard a whisper, I know the light is almost flat, and I am not really abstract, but my graphic qualities are at least worthy of a try. So I took this photograph.

Lovely. Great composition.

Thanks Francois and Eric. Got to try. Yesterday it was very sunny so I tried high contrast to bring out contrast, lines and light.

Nice ones, Eric. I especially like the second. When I blow it up, I see abstracts within an abstract.
