Wow, 34 images! I never had a good experience with photostacking. Could be because I almost always take an interpretive approach to my macros and not a documentary one. I usually only want one or two elements within my macro images to be sharp.
The Fuji X-T4 I used to make that image has an excellent feature (which I believe is shared by some if not all of the medium-format Fujis) that allows you to set the nearest and farthest points you want in focus, and, based on the aperture you have selected, automatically shoots the number of frames required to create the stack. I sometimes tweak that in
Helicon Focus to soften some background features even more. For this picture, however, I knew in advance that I wanted everything visible to be sharp.
